to find out why my PokéStop is not in game yet and wondering when it would be in game?
Can you provide us with some more details please? Such as GPS Co-ordinates to where the nomination is and what the name of the nomination is?
Please also note that not all Wayspot nominations make it into Pokemon Go. Whilst there is no official published information about what will or won’t make it into Pokemon Go, some unofficial information can be found at https://pokemongohub.net/post/article/comprehensive-guide-s2-cells-pokemon-go/.
The chances are that your nomination is in a cell that is occupied by another nomination. Also, it is possible that your nomination exists in a cell that has a geo-block applied.
As suggested by @P1dg3ySlayer , the cell is already occupied by “John Anthony Winston Bust” so there is nothing that can be done to make your waypoint appear as either a Stop or Gym.
Due to its distance to other waypoints it’s also unlikely to be used for Dynamax either.
The issues with this wayspot and that it wouldn’t appear were explained in this post.
It looks like your placement wasn’t accurate.
Other suggestions have been made, so give them a try.
In my experience (and I’ve built up several grids from one or no stops), adding the second stop to a grid, virtually always gyms the first stop.
The only exception I’ve seen, was when the first stop was a showcase (which are ineligible).
Location is fixed now.
That’s interesting rng for you, but if all things are equal, I have the new one become the gym as often as the old one.
Still a correct recommendation whether its 50/50, 90/10 or 10/90.
This is my experience also.
How do I make it a gym then
Nominate 1 of the suggestions I made above. They are all in empty cells so if accepted should appear in game.
Because the larger S2 L14 cell will then have 2 occupied cells 1 of them will turn to a Gym.
We can not guarantee whether it will be the 1 that is already in the game “John Anthony” or the next nomination that is accepted in to the game.
That is why I suggested that you select which of my suggestions would be most suitable for you, nominate that, let it go through the whole process. You then have a 50/50 chance which will be the Gym.
You can then nominate the others to create extra Pokestops.
Gyms are created automatically when the number of Wayspots in game reach a certain amount.
- 2 Wayspots = 1 Gym
- 6 Wayspots = 2 Gyms
- 20 Wayspots = 3 Gyms
The image below shows the larger L14 cell for the area.
This is split in to 64 (8x8) smaller L17 cells.
Only 1 waypoint per L17 cell will be used in game as Stop or Gym.
Number of occupied L17 cells in the L14 cell will determine how many convert to Gyms.
Hope this helps.
Edit: Realised I never included the co-ords for anybody else wanting to help…

So what would be best pictures to take or add for so, and which spot is the spot I need to go too where the criteria will be accepted and ect.
Wayspots should always be put at the location of the object they represent.
When the object is small, e.g., a statue, you don’t have much scope for choosing the precise location. It is usually only for larger objects, such as football fields, playgrounds where you have room to choose the precise location.
This will depend on which of the examples above you decide to go with.
For this example I will use the Restaurant.
WARNING As I am not at the location I am using images from Google Maps. NEVER do this when submitting your nomination. ALWAYS take your own photographs which have not been uploaded anywhere else.
Main Image (Try at a time when it looks open but no cars in the way).
Supplemental Image (this is to show the waypoint and its surrounding showing that it exists and that it is safe)
If you use the web submit you can add up to 4 more Supplemental images if you believe it will help.
Title: Chef Troy’s Talk Of The Town Restaurant
Description
Local Restaurant for the Settlement / Village / Town of … Scores 4.6 on Google and is enjoyed by Locals and others passing through. Specialises in…
Supplemental.
Large car park but easily and safely accessible on foot. Used as a meeting place for all the locals.
As @salixsorbus states, pin it correctly. The entrance to the Building is the ideal pin location.
Churches are usually easy accepts. The entire church is in an unoccupied cell, along with the church sign. You can use a photo of either to submit the church. It clearly shows on street view, so there should be no worries about proving the location.
For some reason, there is a data import for a lumber company showing here. You do not need to worry about that, as reviewers will not be shown that in review.
To summarise and keep it as straight forward as possible ![]()
The best option to submit is the church,
Its a lovely building so take a picture straight on of the section with the spire. I would recommend it would look something like this ( but your own photo)
I would place the pin at the front entrance of the building.
The title should be the full name of the church.
A description that briefly describes it…
in your own words something like This church is the United Methodist church for Winston County
A supplementary photo taken showing the church and road would be good.
That should be a strong candidate for approval.
it will then be a case of whether the church or the John Anthony Winston bust becomes a gym.
At that point you will have a pokestop, a gym and a powersport.
That is your first task. Let us know how it goes.
For stage 2 ( and you might want to come back for further advice).
The restaurant can then be submitted as described above
There are also 2 other churches a Baptist and a congregational church.
There is also a feature behind the united methodist church
Is this some sort of social space a picnic /BBQ area? it has potential to be another pokestop.
@Beastman94 , I understand that we have given you a lot to take in but I would like to ask a general question, just me being interested and nosey ![]()
How many players do you have in a location such as this?
Do you have any “more populated” locations close by that you use for raid days etc?
We get lots of messages from “rural” players so I would like to know the situation from someone that seems to want to improve their location.
Good Luck.
