I owned a card shop for almost 2 years and couldn’t figure out why my store couldn’t become a pokestop. Well recently we realized that there is a Dynamax den on my store’s location because niantic still thinks that my store is a T-Mobile, but it has not been for two years. Any insight on how to appeal this? We’re a Play! store and host several TCG League events each month. I thought it was automatic
Hello and Welcome,
You can report the T-Mobile for removal. Take a GPS Tagged Photo showing that it no longer exists.
Dynamax Powerspots will not stop waypoints from being created.
If you can post the location we can take a look if there is anything else.
Good Luck.
This photo should be location tagged. The address is 908 E State Street Athens OH 45701
Let me know if there’s anything else I should send

There is nothing in the area that will stop the nomination.
Make sure you mention in the supplement that Street View from the car park still shows the “Sprint” but newer street view from the road shows “Deep Dive Games”.
You need to push the “Social” aspect of the events.
Use the Wayfarer Submit option which allows up to 5 images, 1 could be used to image a sign advertising the events.
If you want to show potential photos, Title, Description and Supplemental we can advise.
Good Luck
** Edit: ** I forgot that sponsored stops / gyms are not shown on the map (thanks @cyndiepooh for reminding me).
This can be checked in game. If there is a sponsored stop / gym then this could be a problem. Map seems to show it has a Dynamax Powerpoint that should effect you nominating…
I do not see anything on the map here that would prevent a Pokestop from going live.
Is there a sponsored Pokestop or gym? We can’t see those on this map.
If you are asking about how to get the Play Pokemon! Pokestops, that is not Wayfarer related. I think it is an automated process, and don’t have a suggestion on how to pursue getting one. Maybe talk to Pokemon Go support? (Did a Google search, and maybe you could start a chat at this website: https://play.pokemon.com/en-us/)
Are you saying that your accepted nomination of your shop is not showing up? I don’t see a Wayspot for a card shop on this map, and if it has been accepted, it should show here.
Are you saying that your nomination for your shop is not being accepted? If you want feedback on that, you can post screenshots of the contribution and we can try to advise.
No there’s nothing left over from the T-Mobile other than the Dynamax spot. It auto denies our pokestop nominations for my shop
Can you please share a screenshot? I cannot fathom a situation where a Power Spot is denying a nomination. What rejection reason are you getting?
Hello @GooeyBungus
When you say auto denies does the reject say it was denied by the auto system? If it does that is not related to the T mobile.
Can we see the full nomination.
And I will move this to nomination support ![]()
It could be just AI rejection and not what you think. If you share full detain on your nomination ,we can advise to improve it.
Alright gamers, sorry for the delay. I was real busy last night. I just resubmitted my nominations and here are all the details.
Two things to note. the map still says that T-Mobile is here and has 2 spots for little Cesar’s, all three of the map spots say “this location is being used in a different niantic game”
If or when it gets denied, I’ll send that email
If it’s not in voting, my view is that I would edit it slightly.
The description using the phrase “ Pokémon fans “risks being rejected as it could be seen as too close to a game reference even although it is in context I think its fans that pushes it too far. This description is meant to have a neutral feel and not be pitched only at Pokémon fans. It could get used in pikmin bloom and MHN.
So maybe replace with the more generic gamers? I presume you do cater for other games?
This image indicates this is an import to be used as a Power Spot only. It is not impacting your Wayspot nomination in any way. Here is an explanation about these imports. Clarifications on Pokémon Go Power Spots
I would still like to have seen the rejection reasons on your previous attempts.* Did they say “by the automated process for not meeting wayfarer criteria” or something about “not historically or culturally significant” or for “bad description” or “mismatched location” or something else? Knowing what it was rejected for previously would have helped us to advise on a resubmit.
If something of mine is rejected by the automated process, the first thing I change is the main photo, to make sure that it isn’t confused about what I am trying to submit. in this case, I would have cropped this photo to square to get rid of some of the parking lot in front of the store. Or tried taking a photo of the sign while crouched low and aiming up to get rid of some of the reflection in the window. We don’t know exactly what the machine learning “automated process” is looking for in a nomination, so resubmitting the same photo may not be an issue, even if that(the automated process) is what rejected it previously. You will know in about 24 hours if the machine learning model is going to reject it.
Also wanted to let you know that the categories have absolutely nothing to do with the nomination being acceptable or not. What you have chosen is absolutely fine, but these are just for data purposes. For example, you can choose “Elementary School” which is specifically not eligible.
While mentioning Pokemon is relevant to the description for your store, I do agree with @elijustrying about using the phrase “ Pokémon fans“ here. I would also avoid the word “trainers” in the description. The web submit form does a better job making clear you are submitting a Wayspot, not a Pokestop, than the in game one.
As far as I can tell this location would be an excellent Wayspot, and we all are trying to help you get it accepted.
*I just realized you may not be aware where these rejection reasons are stated. They are on your contribution on your contributions management page. Here is one from mine, for example. https://wayfarer.nianticlabs.com/new/nominations
Okay, that is a rejection by the machine learning model. It was not looked a human being. We don’t know exactly how it works, but I think the model may not have recognized what this is.
If it gets rejected by the automated process again, you can either try with a new photo, or appeal the rejection. We get 2 appeals, each on a 15 day counter before you can use it again. Hopefully it will get into review this time. Please let us know what happens.
If its rejected by AI, take another foto and resubmit. Dont use any pokemon go terms because wayfarer is being used in various niantic game. Focus on how it fit socialize category. You can use web submission so you can use 5 surrounding foto. If you have gathering foto, that will help strengthen your claim.
