FYI, if you’re logged in, you don’t see it. It’s when you have to login when you’ll see it:
Here’s how it looks on a mobile device (notice the 3 lines in the upper left, that brings out the How To, Community, and Support options):
Just wanted to clear things up, as not everyone knows what a landing page is.
I may need to play with this some. But my initial reaction is that this is good. It is a way for folks to easily find information about submitting and reviewing.
Since the test has been retired, I have seen a gap in knowledge. Hopefully this helps the wayfarer community be more confident in what they are doing
Would it be great if the Landing Page could have a language version for each country and automatically switch to the language used by the OS? My friends and I made this suggestion to NianticTintino and NianThib who were at Pokémon GO Fest Osaka in 2023. The English page looks like a phishing site to the Japanese (this is an exaggeration). I believe Niantic can be much more user-friendly.
Have you tried changing your language setting in your web browser? I changed it to Japanese, and this is what I got in Chrome:
Also, if you have Japanese or another non-English language as your main language in Wayfarer Settings, it will show up in that language the next time you log out and log back in. Tried this change as well, so appears to be an issue with the cookies.
When I accessed the site using chrome on a windows PC, it was displayed in Japanese. However, when I accessed the site using chrome on an Android device with the language setting set to Japanese, the site was displayed in English.
Also, on Windows PC, the link is in English (en), not Japanese (ja). Since we have just started, we hope that this will gradually improve.
Does this mean we will be submitting from Wayfarer in addition to (or instead of) from Pokemon Go or Ingress?
Or is this a step by step guide to how to make a nomination?
I’m hoping to get more pictures with Captain Doty :))
Just a guide for now, but who knows…
It does redirect to this help page:
This is not a landing page (at least as far as this term is used in online marketing), but a new homepage.
It has turned out quite nicely, despite a typo in German.
(should be “forum”)
I would like to thank you for your kindness. I do not own a computer. I first accessed the site from my favorite iPhone version of Chrome (automatic Google Translate is very useful). The site was in English.
I followed your advice and checked the language settings within Chrome, but that was about translation; I checked the language settings of the app from the iPhone settings and it was Japanese. I have no idea why the mobile version of Chrome shows English instead of Japanese.
Next, I accessed the site from Safari for iPhone. I found the renewed and very nice official page in Japanese, and I would like to thank the Wayfarer team from the bottom of my heart. I have been wanting to see a page like this for a long time. It is the best and most appropriate gateway for Japanese Wayfarer beginners who are allergic to English! Unfortunately, however, all the links are to the English version of the URL, except for the community forum. It would be really great if these links were all in Japanese. I would very much appreciate a correction:
I look forward to future updates as well:
Once again, thank you to the Wayfarer team
It can be seen as a homepage for most of us regular users, but it’s also a landing page as one still has to login before fully accessing the sire. Once logged in, the homepage changes to the Featured Wayspots page usually. You won’t see the landing page again until you log out or your session expired in some way, such as closing your browser.
Being every new session we have on the Wayfarer site we have to login for, we land on this page to do so, even if we saved the link to take us to our profile, Contribution Management, or the homepage, which is Featured Wayspots. I personally have my link saved to take me to my profile once logged in.
@kowloonsgt Glad you were able to figure things out! Safari is so basic in the functions it has as a web browser. If I ever end up having to use an Apple product, I look to see if another browsee is installed.
Great question! Thanks for asking. This means that there will be a step-by-step guide to make a nomination.
What an opening!!
Features related to Niantic Wayfarer are accessible for certain experienced players in Pokémon GO and Ingress. Whether you can submit a suggested Wayspot edit, submit a Wayspot nomination, or review nominations and edits is determined by the level of your account in Pokémon GO and/or Ingress Prime. Current access requirements for these features are listed below.
Please note that these access requirements are subject to change, so keep an eye on our official channels for updates.
I recommend pulling thoughts together and reducing extra redundant words, like putting subject “account” and verb “determines” are next to each other.

That’s the page about how to access Wayfarer. As Tintino noted, the link will eventually be to a step-by-step guide on how to nominate, not this link.
Also, the space between paragraphs helps make the last part clear that if there are anu changes to check places like the forums or social media. You also removed the mention of what level requirements are listed and for each Wayfarer feature, which is also helpful.
Redundancy is sometimes needed for newer users. I look at it more like re-enforcement, tbh, rather than being redundant.
The level requirements are in a nice chart just below the opening few sentences.
Some don’t scroll down. Some…
Scr…what now?
