Niantic suspended my account for no reason

very recognisable. Niantic often hands out heavy penalties for small mistakes. If you accidentally misplace a stop something, you can get an instant ban. in this way, you are unfortunately discouraged from making requests

As long you double check the location and not trying to put wayspot in empty cell or other gaming purpose, you should be safe from missplacement. Anyway wayfarer ald stated that you record will be cleaned after 1 year of good record. So take the suspension as warning and play safe

@Superzwaan Niantic does not issue instant bans for minor mistakes. There are always multiple opportunities to correct issues before receiving “heavy penalties”

If you’ve appealed any penalties and received the necessary details from our support team, I recommend consulting your friends for a different perspective to gain a better understanding (if sharing those details publicly is uncomfortable for you).

Please be mindful not to spread misinformation on public forums. Thank you for your understanding.

“If you feel the wayspot submission placement has been judged harshly, you need to appeal.” On a side note, why not address the elephant in the room, the harsh judgement? That would solve many issues. :slightly_smiling_face:

We take actions in cases where we have conclusive evidence.

Additionally, we are more than happy to make amends if there was any harsh call at all. This is why we have a peer review in place for appeals. We review appeals very seriously.

There were posts that had wandered off wayfarer to more games related issues. So these have been deleted.

One you have submitted a wayspot nomination, you should always fully exit the Upload screen and go all the way back to the initial Settings screen. I have found that if I don’t do this then when I do my next wayspot nomination that the Set Location screen will automatically default back to the pinned location of my previous nomination.

Did you do more than one wayspot nomination that day? If so, is the set location for your subsequent wayspot nomination the same as the set location for your first wayspot nomination? In such a situation, it is easy to just confirm the incorrect location if you are not paying attention.

This may (or may not) be sufficient evidence for you to show Niantic that you did not deliberately set the wayspot at the incorrect location.

Having said that, we all have two opportunities during the nomination process to verify that the proposed wayspot has been correctly set.

You are obviously very disappointed and frustrated about all this. I would recommend that you treat this as a training opportunity (just like any normal wayfarer rejection email) rather than a personal attack (which it isn’t). I’m sure that your local community appreciate all the past wayspots that you have added to the game. Put this all behind you, keep the “faith” and don’t let this stop you from submitting more wayspots.

Good luck
