Niantic VPS for Larger Areas (e.g. 6-10k sf deck)

Hi!

I’m wondering if there are any tutorials or suggestion on implementing VPS for larger scale areas such as a 6-10k sf deck?

I would like the device to be able accurately place a relatively large asset while the user moves around a large space. Was thinking of using gyro/accelerometer to provide reference while periodically querying Niantic VPS. If there’s any feedback on feasibility and/or cost (if > one VPs scan).

Hello and welcome,

Scans are only allowed for 1 Wayspot at a time, so there isn’t a way to create a larger scan containing possibly multiple Wayspots.

Being this is about scans, this may be a question to ask in the Scaniverse forums, or, if you are a developer, the Spatial/Lightship developer forums. With Wayfarer, we’re nominating new Wayspots, as well as editing existing ones.

Hello and thank you,

I understand the scanning process and have experience with it. I’m just wondering if I want to use more than one VPS anchor in my project allow reliable tracking in a larger space (e.g. 7,000 sf deck). Would that be possible?

Wayfarer doesn’t deal with scanning, so there’s very little we can help you with here. Please see the forums from Scaniverse or the developers for more assistance.
