How do the appeals go?
Do you get much luck there?
Very poorly.
All of my aforementioned nominations have been done through appeals. Any Wayspot I submit is immediately auto-rejected by AI, without fail. I can’t get a single nomination to go through the normal reviewing process, I have to waste an appeal any time I actually want to truly nominate something.
So all of the ones I mentioned, with the stated reasons for rejection, those have been provided (presumably) by humans who reviewed them and given those reasons.
So realistically, I have to very carefully choose TWO nominations every 20 days to attempt to get through.
I don’t see this painted rock as vandalism, especially if a local artist painted these to be part of a scavenger hunt around the area. Most likely those in the area were made aware of the project as well, otherwise they may not have wanted the painted rocks to be placed.
Exactly this. Several of these rocks are already Wayspots with at least two of them being meeting points for raid hour walking groups. I thought this would be an easy one.
My issue was with the other user in our conversation, not you. Because they left, I left. I’m sorry I left, but I didn’t want to be left alone.
All I am doing is providing the clarification for vandalism in the Criteria Clarification Collection. This rock does look hand painted to me, not something that was just purchased with the paint already on it. I’m just reminding all of what the clarification is, as in no way does this meet the clarification in my eyes.
Mod Edit: Removed misrepresentation of antoher user’s intent
Did you always take the supporting photo in portrait mode? I prefer landscape for something like this, especially if it might not be on Street View, and to show more of the surrounding area. That could help provide additional context. Another option would be to circle the rock in the supporting photo before nominating, pointing out where it’s located so it can be better seen.
Well, we haven’t been given a location, so hard to know, nor do we know much in regards to the other stones and their placements. Doing a Google Lens search on the supporting photo comes back as saying this is a hedge, which can be used instead of a fence on SFPRP. I know many that have privacy hedges instead of fences on their properties.
Step back and relax. I have submit wayspot since 2014. But that doesnt mean i submit every year. Sometime you need to take a break. Anyway you are free to ask here if u want advice to improvenomination
I think it would be better if we knew where this was located, as requested, as it does seem to possibly be on SFPRP. We certainly don’t know much about the other Wayspots for these painted rocks in this neighborhood, and if they are also on SFPRP.
We can’t force the OP to provide the location details, but at this point, that would be most helpful to provide the best feedback.
