Sorry to hear of your frustration. Unfortunately, without seeing some examples of both the good and the bad, it’s hard for us to give advise on what to do.
Keep in mind that Wayfarer is separate from the games, as Wayfarer is for building a database map of interesting POIs that meet Wayspot Criteria. Each game has their own inclusion rules, and games may also have sponsored game play locations, or, in some areas, imports to add more game play locations to a sparse area. For example, there was a recent import of stops/gyms for PoGo in both India and Indonesia: More PokéStops and Gyms coming to India and Indonesia
Sponsored stops in PoGo, for example, have pink ribbons on them, and typically have an image provided by the sponsor to be used. Imports usually do not have images and descriptions, just a title and place holder image, and some may not be in the correct location, based off of the 3rd party data that was used to create them.
Keep in mind that if you do find a Wayspot that is in the wrong location, you can request an edit in-game. However, if the edit is more than 10m, you will want to request the move via help chat on the Wayfarer website, making sure to provide evidence of where it should correctly be located, such as a geotagged photo.
