I would usually use an appeal for something like this although I don’t have any right now, but it was suggested by another Wayfarer that the reason it was rejected might be the similarity to a Google photograph, and I would have a hard time arguing that that via the appeal process.
I would like to assure you I took this picture myself and cropped it in order to get the best results in Pokemon Go. Please reconsider the rejection and see images below for further evidence, noting the position of clouds and the open door. Thank you.
It is a bit curious, but then none of us know the basis of the programming that leads to this.
To be fair I would have thought it appropriate to appeal., although I fully appreciate that appeals are very valuable and a photo edit would be low on my list.
I’m really not sure about the google match but it is certainly the kind of thing you could explai in appeal.
Thanks Eli, this was not an immediate ML decision but rather was sent to Niantic Review before arriving at a decision, hence the consideration of a human googling the photo and finding that one seen in the other image upthread.
Appeals is specifically for when you are requesting that Niantic have a look at an appeal that you have made which was rejected (I think I have that right). It is not for actually making an appeal, as this needs to be done through the Appeal process in wayfarer. Niantic moving this from Appeals to Nomination Support doesn’t necessarily mean they won’t respond.
Thanks very much! I tried to add it again today and it was again taken into Niantic Review. Please could someone reject the now-duplicate photo from my profile? Cheers.
