Parks/Reserves without signage

I have read that parks and reserve that clearly look like a reserve/park are now eligble as wayspots and not a natural feature is this true?

I’m not sure what “now” means but please review the relevant post from Criteria Clarification Collection - it may answer your question.

Well me and a friend went around on Tuesday and submitted 14 things. One was a reserve/park. Most people don’t know parks/reserves without signage so it got rejected. That’s fine she appealed it today and it’s already come back as appeal denied and asks for a signboard.

I can send in photos if you like

Now just means when I found out about the eligbility

The fact that there is a clarification doesn’t necessarily mean that every single object of this type is eligible and is going to be accepted, or that there isn’t a burden of proof on the submitter to demonstrate that e.g. it is really a park. Parks without signs can be difficult (as you have found) as they generally would need to rely on external sources of information to prove they are really used/zoned as such. Right now we indeed don’t have enough information to confidently say whether the appeal decision was correct.

I suggest your friend creates a new post in Nomination Support with screenshots of the full nomination and all details about it and the rejection (please note that only photos would not be helpful - it is the entire nomination that has to be evaluated in its entirety), so that the people here can chime in and advise on resubmission or otherwise.

Also keep in mind that there isn’t a categorical blanket ban on natural features either
