Hey everyone! I’ve seen many waypoints that do not have name signs, and I have tried to get several similar waypoints approved but they seem to get caught in the ML as soon as I submit them or shortly thereafter. I have tried to appeal them but I get the generic “needs signage” rejection. I can’t seem to find it, and I may have imagined it; but I could have sworn I remembered seeing a criteria post about accepting locations and or community parks and whatnot that didn’t have signage. Am I mistaken? I feel like i must be. If anyone can point me in the right direction I’d be very grateful.
From the criteria:
Parks are great places to explore, exercise and socialize. A nomination can be made for a park even if a park does not have a physical sign but is clearly a park. If there is an obvious entrance or focal point, that would be a good location to place the pin, but equally the middle of the park may be suitable. The supporting photo and text should provide evidence that the location is intended to be used as a park or recreational area.
You were not mistaken but they are hard to get past the ML and reviewers. It can’t just be a patch of grass there needs to be something to show it’s intended to be a park. My area has a lot of pocket parks but there are usually at least some benches or a garden pathway
Is there an actual post or criteria link that I can use on my next appeal? That would be awesome to use, I feel like whomever is doing the appeal reviews, if it is true we don’t have to have sineage, are just being lazy with the “needs signage” rejection
Niantic Wayfarer it’s in the criteria library from the “help” section
Basically u nd to proof that your “park” is more than just open field which is ineligibe. Without this sign / bench / picnic table/ other anchor, its very hard to proof it and Its submitter job to present this proof to reviewer.
You can argue about clause in wayfarer
A nomination CAN be made for a park even if a park does not have a physical sign
But this clearly state “CAN” which mean it still gonna require certain evidence.
