Permanent and Distinct

I would be interested to know why a regular Road Sign has been rejected because it is not “permanent and distinct” and “seasonal”

This was created as part of my heritage trail/walk which has been supported by many trainers I have communicated with online.

This was also rejected for that reason recently so my answer to you is that reviewers can make interesting decisions sometimes

Can you share your nomination so that we can see the sign and how it was described? Maybe we can trqnslate what reviewers saw that made them reject it?

A standard road sign would generally be rejected, however some are different for example some artistic merit, more information added, additional decorative elements added etc so would have to see it to understand fully

Yeah, they are rejecting that because it is indeed just a standard road sign with no additional features

I can see you’ve linked it to the history of the area, but reviewers would want to see more, for example a dedicated sign about the heritage trail, or a web link to the route etc

That is a generic street name sign which is indeed not distinct. Nearly every street in the UK has at least one of these, and often more than one of them.

If there is a heritage trail here, maybe the local council or a local organisation connected to the trail can install some official trail markers or information plaques for it. Those would be eligible if they existed.
