I thought this has been a thing for years now? Any time I need to change a baseball field number to the correct one I always add a photo to be voted on and added to the system and then simply upvote it in along with a couple other locals. Been doing this for years. Makes a title fix much easier to get approved
Very good update, thank you for this! I find doing stuff on web much easier, especially when we’re trusted to handle things remotely instead of having to be near the location. Doing as much Wayfarer stuff from home as possible is great.
Can I ask whether or not the votes on the web will also influence future Gym placements, or if that will continue only being a thing for in-game votes? Definitely the most useful part of photo submissions & votes beyond just making sure each POI looks nice and is represented well.
Being able to upvote through the Wayfarer Map is new.
Make sure your title edits are corrections to what the original Waypoint should have been named, and not repurposing to what is currently there.
I am guessing they will be allowing any level player to participate like they’ve basically done with editing location? I bet I’ve had over 25 poi removed from the game by people moving my in game poi 5’-10’ from their correct position so they can reach it driving by and it never fails to enter a cell that is already occupied. Poof. My very first ever nom that became a pokegym at the park nearby my house was recently removed because of this and it stung. Not going to lie I loved that gym and had probably done 100+ raids and spun it 5000+ times.
Plus another 4 vanished soon after in the same park. It went from being an awesome place to play to a ghost town after the next spawn shift since so many other players found better spots(assuming). I’m guessing the same person did this and actually thought about it last night. It would be nice if the person who edits a location or changes the title would have their name attached to the poi. This would help others educate why it disappeared and why not to do it because it benefits your gameplay.
Do I need to consider which photo is more appropriate among those that meet the criteria, excluding the ones that don’t?
For example, is it okay to choose photos of friends based on their requests?
If I happen to choose a photo that does not meet the criteria, will any action be taken?
If the edited position is wrong, you can ask Niantic to put it back with evidence. If the original location was intentional mispinning to put it in an empty L17 S2 cell so that it would be pokestop eligible, that is abuse, and you are lucky that you haven’t been suspended. Niantic will know who submitted the location edit. I don’t think everyone needs to know that.
OH! It was just mentioned on the Wayfarer Discussion Discord that with this update the trapped votes from before Lightship when Ingress was the database are now shown!!! So the count we see there is correct. This is huge!!!
Is there any info on how many thumbs up it takes for it to change the main photo?
They were baseball fields the person had put the photo of field 3 and titled it field 1 and it was actually field 4 
. Was a serious headache fixing the photos so the title would get approved and yes I did it to benefit from another field being approved but also front he chaos of trying g to organize raids etc…. Reviewed 65,000 and ranked something like 11th on discord back in the day. never got my full amount of upgrades after a system reset a day or two after reviewing 2500 in a week. I quit reviewing cold turkey Added 850ish stops too. I remember the rules still

Huge if true, those invisible likes are such a pain!
That aside, pretty cool to be able to get friends to easily add likes on photos I submitted in faraway places. Just hope this doesn’t cause mass photo edit wars…

When you look at the gallery you see the total for each picture. The picture with the most , 1 more than any other, should become the cover photo within a short time.

No way!!! That’s awesome. I don’t know if you remember but I posted about this. So I rechecked some of the poi I referenced and sure enough! It’s updated. 
There is only a few of my POI that are a few votes away to get updated to the correct main photo.
The implementation of the voting feature on the Wayfarer Map is a wonderful update! It has become my secret pleasure to take photos that make even ordinary parks or plain community centers look as beautiful as possible and add them. I can’t wait for the day when the daily gift sending and receiving in Pokémon GO becomes even more engaging 
By the way, I would like to clarify a concern regarding the wording in the Japanese announcement.
Am I correct in my understanding that users who only have a Niantic game account for Pikmin Bloom, or only for Monster Hunter Now, are unable to log in to the Wayfarer official website and cannot participate in voting via the Wayfarer map?
It’d be cool if they could join in too.
Since you have to be level 35 in Pokemon Go to participate in Wayfarer, that seems accurate.
