Pokestop approval

I got a wayspot approved and its been 2 days now, how come the pokestop hasn’t showed up on pokemon go yet?

1st, there is an issue with syncing in PoGo, and is being discussed here:

Since so many people are asking about it, I thought I would post a topic noting that sync of new Pokestops and gyms seems to have been skipped yesterday. Don’t panic if an expected game location did not show up on the game board. The next sync is due about 7-8 hours from now.

I have this written up for when I see a wheresmypokestop question. I know the prompt tells you that you are submitting a “Pokestop” but you are actually submitting a Wayspot to the database. The Wayspot can only become a Pokestop or gym if it is alone in a level 17 S2 cell. The S2 cell use has not been officially confirmed as far as I am aware, but staff has acknowledged there is an additional step after acceptance. Hey guys,

My waypoint for a pokestop got approved 3 days ago,

It hasnt appeared on the game yet,

so i did alittle research and checked the s2 cell grid,

Along the yellow road in the middle grid, There is already 1 pokestop on 1 side of the road,

And the one I tried to get approved is on the other side of that road, so since the approved waypoint is on the same grid that a pokestop is already on, does that mean even tho it got approved, they won’t actually spawn the pokestop in?

If it doesn’t become a Pokestop / Gym Your nomination may…

• become a Powerspot (Dynamax / Gigantamax) depending on its proximity to other waypoints.
• replace the existing waypoint if that is removed for legitimate reasons. ***
• be used in other Scopely games.

***Do Not attempt to get a legitimate wayspot removed just to get yours on to the map. This is seen as Abuse and can lead to suspension / bans of all accounts (Wayfarer, Pokemon Go and any other Scopely games).

Hi, I merged your posts since they appear to be about the same thing. If you nominated something in the same cell as the post office, yes, it will not be eligible to be a Pokéstop or Gym in Pokémon GO, so it’s not so much about the sync not working well.

It will, however, potentially be eligible to be a PowerSpot, or be eligible to appear if the other thing in the cell gets removed.
