Hello everyone,
I recently submitted a PokéStop nomination titled “Fresque hommage à l’USM Alger” (Mural Tribute to USM Alger), and it was rejected with the main reason being: “The nomination appears to be non-existent.”
However, this mural does in fact exist. It is a graffiti artwork created by the Ultras (supporters) of the USM Alger football club, located on a public wall and visible from the street. The mural features the Arabic phrase “رمز للنقاء و أيقونة الإخلاص”, which translates to “Symbol of purity and icon of loyalty”, paying tribute to the club’s history and values.
I understand that since this is not an official piece or signed by a well-known artist, it may raise doubts. But it is a permanent, local, and culturally significant landmark, which I believe fits Wayfarer’s eligibility criteria.
I would like to ask:
Has anyone had similar experiences with murals or graffiti created by supporter groups?
What kind of proof or additional materials (e.g., context photos, Street View, etc.) would you recommend including in a resubmission to better demonstrate that the nomination is real and valid?
Thanks in advance for your advice and support!
Some details in below

Hello and welcome,
There’s no Street View here, so that could be why it was rejected as not existing. I would provide more info in the supporting info as to where this is located, such as any nearby businesses or the street it’s located on. The supporting info section is to support the nomination, and if it’s one that isn’t on Street View, it’s best to provide additional info about where it’s located.

Hello and welcome,
It sounds as though this might be supposed to mean temporary, but I haven’t come across the phrase used here before.

It is in French, not English, so it could mean temporary or not permanent, but it could also be inaccurate location. I think we all know that some of the translations for rejection reasons don’t always match up fully to their English counterparts.
I’ll let Alice now about it, so it can be added to the list.

Just curious, did the rejection email say this was rejected by the community or by the team?

Thanks for your reply, the email say this was rejected by the team
Thank you for your time and reply, i dont think it means temporary because i have another submission that was rejected invoking the temporary reason
So, ML, the AI system, rejected it, and most likely, it wasn’t able to locate it with the info provided. Again, no Street View, so a little harder to locate without additional location details.
You can either try to renominate it with more info about where it’s located in the supporting info, or appeal it. Keep in mind that we all get 2 appeals every 20 days.
If you do renominate, I’d also take a better main photo, showing as much as the mural as possible, as well as centering it a little better.
They could also have pulled it into Niantic review for a “Team” decision.
