The portal in question is located in the Malvina community, Taquara, in the west zone of Rio de Janeiro, an area that is heavily controlled by criminal organizations, including militias and drug traffickers. The region has been subject to constant violence, posing significant safety risks to anyone attempting to access the location.

I would like to highlight some recent incidents to provide context and support this appeal:

  • On October 16, 2024, local news reported a case where traffickers tortured a woman by order of her husband. The victim was severely assaulted in the Malvina community. (Source: Meia Hora)

  • On October 14, 2024, it was reported that the Malvina militia had allied with the Comando Vermelho, further complicating the conflict in the area. (Source: Crimes News RJ)

  • On August 28, 2024, a militia member was arrested for extorting local businesses in the Malvina community. This highlights the control these criminal groups have over the area. (Source: R7 News)

  • On July 13, 2022, it was reported that a militia leader known as “Nem da Malvina” was arrested for his involvement in the kidnapping of a U.S. judge in Copacabana. This incident underscores the serious criminal activities linked to the militia in the Malvina community. (Source: Band News)

  • In previous years, violence in the community has included armed confrontations between militia groups and drug traffickers, as well as instances of kidnapping and extortion. I urge the review team to consider these circumstances and remove this portal for the safety of players and the local community.

Thanks for the appeal, @mmilk. We took another look at the Wayspot in question and decided that it does not meet our criteria for removal at this time.
