This category is not for appeals of rejected nominations. You do that from your contributions page. You get 2 appeals, each with a 20 day timer until it resets, in case you aren’t currently seeing that option.
I will let the UK people weigh in on whether you should try to appeal this. “Our team” in the email indicates it was a Niantic decision, not a community one, and probably by the ML (machine learning ai) model.
