Private residential property - special case?

Hello, i was wondering how these statues in what looks precisely like someone’s yard don’t count as private residential property.

Ive seen pokestops here getting rejected because they are a mural on what is a private residential property, or how some statue may look like it is part of someone’s hedge and the mods here requested him to provide government proof that it’s not private property.

But this? there’s 0 ambiguity it’s someone’s home. So i want to learn and see what is the justification of this being able to be a pokestop.

There are no exceptions to the private residential property rule. If these are indeed on single family private residential property, they should be reported and removed, and they shouldn’t have been accepted in the first place.

You must understand how wayspot approved in the 1st place. they can either approved by niantic auto approve system or incorrect approved by community. Only niantic know who approved it.

i see.
Well, my report on it being private residential property got declined… i guess i might have to make an appeal

ML hasn’t auto-approved any Wayspot nomination since the end of November 2024. This is a well known issue; it can only auto-reject nominations currently and auto-approve/auto-reject edits.

@samurel Removal requests tend to need additional evidence, such as photos or a splat from Scaniverse. Just saying it’s on private property isn’t always enough evidence for removal, so I almost always provide a photo when submitting a removel request that I upload to a 3rd party image upload app. Street View is also almost 3 years old, so hard to know if what the Wayspot is for is still there or not, another reason why additional evidence may be needed.
