I was wondering how long is a wayspot nomination in voting for?
The timeframe varies from place to place due to variable reviewing activity and nomination review queue.
I recommend reviewing as well.
Basically, it appears to depend primarily on how many people are reviewing that area. Andā¦ the algorithm which is used to decide what to put in front of different reviewers.
Iāve signed up to review one area. I get reviews put in front of me for other areas where Iāve obviously played. And rarely, I get reviews for areas totally out of my familiarity. My guess is that those are submissions that sat idle for enough time that the algorithm decided to reach further afield for reviewers.
So there are 4 āAreasā that you can receive nominations from:
- Local play area: where you currently are interacting with your game(s)
- Home: specificly chosen by the player as a permanent area. Recommend that this is somewhere you are familiar with and different from your regular play area - note this is a permanent choice
- Bonus location: Can be anywhere in the world. Itās recommended that you choose someplace you have either an understanding of the local culture and/or language. This can be changed every 3 months.
- Upgrade: these reviews can come from a much wider area. I seem to get things across the whole of the United States and occasionally some from Mexico
I try to call this āPrioritizedā and say that it includes Upgrades and other prioritized nominations for unknown backend reasons.
Iāve always struggled to believe that everything outside of my areas is upgraded, and Iāve had several personal nominations end up reviewed by friends that I did not upgrade and were not part of any of their associated review areas.
This is typically based on country you are in. It does include territories so for the US we get Puerto Rico, Saipan, Guam, US Vırgın Islands. And since itās cell based, there is overlap with the boarder of Mexico and Canada.
That makes sense to me. I just know so little about how/what gets prioritized that I didnāt think to include that aspect. But I like how you address it. Iāll try and add think of it this way going forward.
