Yep, another complaint about an appeal rejection, but this one i fully disagree with
Ignore the spelling mistake, only just noticed it lol, but this was rejected for temporary and cultural relevance, 2 really bad rejections to begin with imo, but its a geek shop that has social nights, lets anyone come in and browse or play games etc (which i mentioned aome of in the description). Rhe appeal rejection though
Not being Hyper local? Thats crap imo, comic book and geek shops are usually OK, but this one especially does lots of social things, I even linked their Facebook in the supporting info to show they have regular events on. It snot like a chain, or a random shop, its the e act kind of thing niantic (used) to like when it comes to shops, social, geeky etc

If they wanted to reject for spelling, they should be using the appropriate rejection reason, and then it would be clear.
So based on them not choosing a description quality reason, I can only assume that they believed the location doesn’t meet criteria, maybe a generic business. It’s clearly a great place to socialise, so thats an incorrect appeal decision to my mind.
I hope you get some assistance. Also, please give us some spellchecking tools when submitting!! These little typos are so easy to make in the current system.

Yes to the spell checking. At least we have auto correct, but it still fails, as it did here. I usually check over but I miss wee tiny things like that (as i think others can attest to with my comments on here being really.bad for spelling lmao)

I miss things too, I had something rejected for 1 single missing letter recently and it was extremely annoying.
But yeah I think this kind of location is brilliant and should make a great PoI
I can understand community reviewers rejecting for a single spelling mistake, even if they shouldn’t, but I would be surprised if Niantic appeal reviewers do this. Hopefully Niantic staff on this forum can have another look, since the appeal rejection appears wrong given the evidence provided.

Out of interest was this a community or Emily reject to begin with?
Including a link as you have described, should have provided the evidence about it meeting socialising criteria.
It looks like the focus has been on whether it is an established and locally valued place. If your link showed lots of activities etc I would have hoped that covered that.
The text is in my view good enough. The number of times I check text and still miss spelling errors is something that happens too frequently.

Community rejection, for temporary (which i guess cause the sign is a banner just now? They opened up middle of last year,.I asked and they have one on order but will take a while) and bit culturally or historically relevant which … i guess?

I think culture is generic business? Which is crazy to me, but some reviewers just love to reject any business for generic business without thinking about the criteria it could meet

I would have thought a website showing it is established would have overcome that.
And now I realsise that the phot contained the rejection reasons which shows it was community
Oh well you seem to have done what you can.
Think I posted their Facebook, but this is their website
Id say the homepage alone would be enough imo. Ill maybe try again later in the year, but its just the, in my opinion, horrible appeal rejection, hyper local is something they should get rid of in general, because thats not a term ive ever heard outside of wayfarer amd is so hard to prove

They use the same text for rejecting restaurants too.
I have learned to circumvent this rejection reason by adding a newspaper article that talks about how this is a favorite spot for locals or something like that

My only worry is it might not appear lol, I had placed where I think it is, and that was in an empty cell, but it looks like its been moved slightly, so after all that it might not appear as a stop, but at least it might be a powerspot. Its literally on the border from what I can tell lol.
It passed at 16.25, so It might spawn in tonight
