La fermata (identificata con il codice ufficiale N.f 13620) è un punto di aggregazione per la comunità scolastica e locale, promuovendo l’uso dei mezzi pubblici. La posizione è sicura per i pedoni grazie all’ampio marciapiede/spazio di sosta ben separato dalla carreggiata principale. Non intralcia la viabilità ed è accessibile in ogni momento. Il Liceo nelle vicinanze la rende un punto di interesse socialmente rilevante.

As I imagined, I’d mostly read on some forums that bus stops should be treated like train stations…
but I wasn’t entirely convinced by this view either. Furthermore, some stations have been accepted in my area (or have been added by Niantic as automatic PokeStops).

I have 3 rail stations in walking distance. They all are connected to by a bus stop. Not counting those stops, there are at least 3 additional ones in one direction and 5 in the other. So almost 4 times the amount of bus stops. Add to that the maby other bus stops in the other directions. This makes bus spots not unique enough.

In very rural areas, a bus stop can be of vital importance though. If I would nominate one of them, I would make the argument, that such a spot is vital for socializing, as it connects the rural area with “the world”.
