If submitting Wayspots with third party photos is considered abuse that can lead to punishment, why doesn’t a Wayspot submitted with third party photos that weren’t caught in review meet removal criteria and are allowed to remain on the game board with the third party photo?
Actually, it does appear to be there. I reported it solely for the third party photo issue.
Sorry… Bad Gif comment. It was intended for the 3rd Party image and not the actual nomination. lol.
Seems to have fallen in to the “not removing unless there is another to replace it with” problem.
Scopely Explore really need to do something about this, either it gets removed as it should not have been accepted in the first place or they replace it with a default “new image required” place holder.
That has been suggested several times by different people and Scopely Explore either don’t think it is a problem, haven’t worked out how to create a default “new image required” placeholder or the technical aspects of this are too complex for a minor (cough) problem.
The first suggestion, “Remove it as it should not have been Accepted” should not have any technical issues.
They need to do something
I suspect that does have issues - if a wayspot does represent something eligible which should have been accepted if the photo was valid, then the wayspot itself is valid. Removing a wayspot because the photo has an issue might be opening Scopely to other removal requests which might otherwise be easy to reject.
The placemarker photo doesn’t have that problem.
I agree that something different is required, because the current approach is leaving Scopely at risk of issues from knowingly using third-party photos and it leaves a bad taste in the mouth of seasoned wayfarers to see guidelines abused like this.
I did NOT use help chat to report just the third party photo for removal, because I already knew they would ask me to supply a new photo, and I can’t.
A Wayspot submitted abusively should not be allowed to remain on the game board imo.
I know and understand what you were requesting and why. I also agree with this topic being highlighted.
Clearly there is something we are not aware of, since the ambassadors are also unable to comment.
Oops, I did not mean the reply to be to you on the last one. I did on this one. I know you get it.
I really don’t understand it.
They can import wayspots and Power Spots that have no pictures, and those function in game and in the database correctly despite the lack of pictures, so we know there is no issue with anything that doesn’t have a picture. For some reason though, they seem to always refuse to remove pictures that violate the rules if they’re the only picture in the database.
It makes zero sense from our perspective as Wayfarers. I don’t know if there’s some internal reason that we’re not privy to that explains why they won’t do it, but it would be great to know the reasoning behind it. I still think whatever it is should be changed though.
