Rejection > Horse Riding Centre Sign > No Consensus

Things are different. It’s a short walk from nearest houses.

I looks like there may be a community garden there too.

I nominated the community garden at the same time as my first attempt at the riding school and it was accepted as a wayspot by ML.

I have taken some more photos, providing various options.

From the direction of the green arrow on my annotated aerial photo (residential properties are out of shot to the right of the access):

Similar, omitting private / no turning sign:

Similar, omitting domestic waste bin and telegraph pole, but not showing entrance:

Closer view of stable complex due north from the PROW:

From the direction of the blue arrow on my annotated aerial photo:

Is the private drive, no turning sign part of the point of interest that you’re trying to nominate? If so, that actually argues against this being a publicly accessible area and yes by that I mean publicly by some public, not just anyone. The photo just makes it look like it’s a private residence.

The driveway serves the business and the residential properties. It is private, but available for use by customers in the same way that the local rugby club has a car park labelled as private, but obviously patrons are permitted to park in it. What they are seeking to deter is random people, who are not visiting the business or dwellings, using the entrance as a turning area, rather than prohibiting any third party access. However, I agree that the existence of that sign counts against using that photo in the nomination.

If it’s visibile on any map’s street view, you will probably want to address this head on in your supporting information just so it’s clear.

The most recent streetview is from 2011 and the private / no turning sign isn’t there.
