I want to appeal a removed exercise station. They are marked with pavement tiles, but are part of an official exercise route installed by the town of Nijmegen.
Wayspot: Kwiek over een lijn lopen at 51.802459, 5.808171
The main sign for this route can be found here: Kwiek beweegroute Weezenhof at 51.801346, 5.806021.
They have routes like that over here too. I’d say they’re great candidates.
Moderator edit- to remove comment not linked to an exercise station route.
Was that edit really necessary, @elijustrying? I’d say that comment was very relevant to this appeal and its likelihood of succeeding.
I judged that although this is displayed using tiles the references to mosaic tiles in the Netherlands was unnecessary, a different situation. I think this is best judged on its own merits with out linking it to the other very negative situation.
I know of two of these exact same exercise trails in my area that have had wayspots removed at the same time as all the mosaic tiles were being removed. I don’t think Niantic looked very closely and just decided “tile = bad”. They even removed a hopscotch track/trail/whatever it’s called, which I’d say would fall under the playground moniker, just because it used mosaic tiles for the numbered squares you’re supposed to jump on.
There are a few large concrete art tiles in a park that were also removed at that time. I’ve successfully appealed those. I hope this one will get reinstated as well.
I’m sure there are more decent wayspots that got removed in the clean up of all the abuse. I dont think we should only blame Niantic for the situation in the Netherlands, the rogue community and abusers deserve most of the blame imo. It’s also not productive to be hostile to Niantic in every post. We should be working with them instead of against them. At the end of the day we are using their product and they can do whatever they want, even if it’s not in the best interest of their own products.

Thanks for the appeal, @Tokekkebo. After reviewing the additional evidence provided, we’ve decided to restore the Wayspot in question.
