Removal Appeal

I want to appeal the removal of two wayspots.

  • Wayspot Title: Joodse Begraafplaats
  • Location (lat/lon): 51.830889, 5.883961
  • City: Nijmegen
  • Country: Netherlands

This wayspot was removed a while ago. It is a monumental cemetery that was built back in 1891 and has been restored to its original state around 2010. A few times a year the whole cemetery is open for the public during an event: “open monument days”. I guess this wayspot was removed because of it possibly being a sensitive location. Since the wayspot has its focus on the architecture of the entrance and not any objects on the actual cemetery I don’t see why this would be a concern.

  • Wayspot Title: Rustoord
  • Location (lat/lon): 51.830593, 5.880858
  • City: Nijmegen
  • Country: Netherlands

Like the previous wayspot this was probably removed for possibly being a sensitive location. Since the wayspot features the large gate/building I don’t see why this should not be a wayspot.

Thanks for the appeal, @RieKoetje We gave this a second look and decided to restore the Wayspot “Rustoord” in question, but stand by our decision to retire the Wayspot “Joodse Begraafplaats”.

Thank you for restoring “Rustoord”.

On the other wayspot I should add that the original placement was inaccurate. I can’t remember what the main wayspot photo was. If it is accurately placed and the main photo is updated with a more suitable and modern photo of the gate, would that be worth another consideration? This would be a better location 51.830813195025854, 5.882921765706827. In the added photo you can also see it is publicly accessible and not on a sensitive location
