Reported for abuse

So i submitted a pokestop. It got rejected and i appealed. However, I got the following feedback:

##### Reviewers provided these top reasons for not accepting this submission:

**** The text or photo contains abuse, ridicule, or harassment of a specific person or group***
**** The submission contains abuse***

Here’s the picture:

I can assure you, i did not write anything rhat could constitute abuse.

So why then, am I getting these reports? It doesn’t make me want to keep using the system - especially if i get in game warnings as a result!

Welcome to the forums

The “Abuse” rejection narrative can be flagged for a nomination for any of the following reasons

* The photo is not yours (e.g., taken from streetview, found on another website)
* The text itself is abusive
* The nomination is controversial and likely to be offensive (e.g., a mural of terrorists)
* Another nomination was abusive and all of yours have been flagged as a consequence
* The wayspot location pin is misplaced
* The wayspot is deliberately misrepresented (e..g., on school property but pretending it isn’t)
* (there may be others)

You may be able to tell which of these is the issue for this submission, but don’t worry about being accused of being discriminatory or writing abusive text, as this isn’t what this narrative is necessarily saying. That abuse rejection is very badly worded and often confuses people.

Can you tell which of these reasons is the case her? Location issues are a common cause of abuse being flagged.

You will have received an email prior to the in-game warnings, (which might be a 24 hour warning about a minor infraction?)

Ah yeah - the pin marker was not in the correct place! Thanks for confirming

It’s a little frustrating i cant amend the placement during the appeal process - i flagged it up during the appeal but unfortunately the pin location is locked once submitted.

Do you know of any official way i can provide this as feedback?

One of the emails should have a link to appeal. You can explain what happened. Often staff here will start a DM with you and you can have a conversation directly with them.

It wouldn’t be rational to allow this, even if it sounds sensible at first. You are appealing the submission that you made, not the submission you should have made. If there are mistakes in the submission, the correct and necessary action is to correct these in a new submission.

Getting the location wrong, mistakes with the photo, spelling errors, mis-describing the POI etc are all equivalent. Allowing any of these to be edited during appeal would mean any of the others should be editable during appeal, which is a non-starter.

Yeah, you’re right.

I was mostly concerned that it’d take forever to approve again as I upgraded the initial submission, but I’m happy to say they’ve approved the suggestion now and it was really quick too.

So I guess I can’t complain!

Thanks to everyone for the responses.
