I am an active Pokémon GO player and really enjoy the game. In my area there are several PokéStops, but none of them are Gyms. I would like to kindly request that one of the local PokéStops be upgraded to a Gym, so that players in our area can enjoy raids and more in-game activities.

I can see that you have a gym just down the road.
We can’t control where gyms pop up, so you can’t request that specific stops turn into gyms. But you can submit additional items in your area in the hope of creating more gyms over time - but they could be anywhere.

Not like to be rude, but the game is named Pokemon Go. It is the game you should walk and GO.

Selecting what becomes a gym doesn’t work like you are thinking.
It is an automatic process using a set of mapping tools and some rules. It can be complex but if you could provide the location ( co ordinates work best t) we could give an answer relevant to you.

It’s a bit technical at times but it is useful to understand as it underpins a lot of how wayspots are selected by Pokémon Go.
