Reviewing...Ten characters title stupidity

I think a lot of it is frustration, especially in Pogo because players are submitting decent stops but the cell rules mean they never appear even if passed. Pogo especially with just 1 wayspot per cell. There is nothing worse then going to the effort to get a good photo, research the background and try to give the local community a better playing area just to have a submission end up in a completely different game and you can’t even see your own hard work.

Local knowledge seems to have a no weight in submissions or reviewing. If you go by the criteria, explore clearly states, something that is significant to the local community, yet this goes out the window as soon as it’s submitted.

I’ve had a few of these. Local areas have hidden histories that outsiders won’t know, I try to give a good description, background, story on anything I submit, granted, some submissions don’t need much explanation, but others that may not look like much can have interesting background.

As for rewards, I believe some in-game items, unique avatars, in PoGo- raid passes (premium and after so many reviews a remote pass), incubators (you can never have enough), Eggs, starpieces etc…that would help you progress in the game would be welcome. Even after you reach so many reviews, the odd ticket for an event would Def make it more worthwhile. Real world items would also be nice but there is a cost factor to that. Personally direct contact, live discussion/meetings where submissions, criteria, rejections, upcoming features, suggestions could be discussed would also make me more interested as it feels that writing an appeal is often a wasted exercise.

As for the other games, I don’t play them so others would know better for those what would be helpful and rewarding.

I’ve grown weary of reviewing lately also. I’ve submissions in that were last seen almost 6-8 weeks ago and they seem to take forever to get a decision.

I was reviewing daily, I eased off when I noticed my rating drop from great to good for no reason and since they figured out what caused it, it still is stuck at good so that has also put me off.

Seeing wayspots in game or on the map when reviewing ,that I have rejected on multiple occasions for various reasons (fake, completely wrong location, same stop moved to different locations and submitted again etc.) just wears you down, when you submit something genuine just to see it rejected with a ridiculous reason. I guess I’m just a bit fed up of it at the moment.

I think the player/game side gets forgotten for the wayfarer side. People, the majority of the time get introduced to wayfarer, not by going and seeking it out but because they want to better the area they live, work, travel through, for the game they play. This seems to get cast aside for “The Map”. Hence, a lot of people just give up and if they are not submitting, then why would they bother reviewing!

Granted common sense needs to apply but a few extra eligible items in each category might make a big difference in smaller areas, giving more options for eligible Wayspots and a direct appeals route where you actually speak to someone to explain why something should be accepted, is not in line with the rejection reason etc. might remedy that but I feel that will never happen.

Anyway, I just popped in to see some of @26thDoctor benches and bridges:rofl::rofl: and spotted this discussion. But I feel the same right now. Just not motivated, bit disheartened and hoping for change, items or rewards would be nice and would probably get me more interested. Maybe that Iron bru and a mars bar may work.:laughing:

How did your trek go btw?

@CountKnick you’re so right :heart:
Since a few weeks I thought nearly every day to let all this here be. And since than I asked myselve “how can you give postive content to let this community grow” while I’m really disheartening :woman_shrugging:t2:

I don’t nominate
Why?
I’m a pogo player. I started with the wish to add some interesting stuff, not only graffities, stolpersteine u.s.o
But the game including rules are not open shown and so your effort (recherche, nice picture …) could end like flipping a coin.
And decisions on nominations (if you’re not 26thdoctor) lasts to long (who want to wait 6 month???).

I don’t review.
Why?
Not is not exact. I review maybe 10 per week, in the hope, that other users nominations get throuw one day.
At the beginning of my wayfarer career (feb ), reviewing and forum reading were helping to understand the process and what makes a good nomination. But now I think I know that. And so it feels a bit like a job. And while you doing this “job” you have been judged by an invisible, unknown algorithmus.

I do community activity here in the forum.
Why?
Sometimes it’s my gamefun out of wayfarer. Funny people, funny content. Or the phantasy in my head how people look like or what they do in real life.
But in this forum most of the time you can read: where is my pokestop (see above why I’m not nominating), don’t understand criteria or I want to report a gone item, malicious behaviour of fraction x,y,z or my neighbours :smile_cat:

Perhaps it’s time to make some wayfarer holidays :woman_shrugging:t2:

Edit: Deleted a part after the wonder of the day

I want to know more about these fantasies.:smiling_imp::smiling_imp:

Yes it’s the same for me right now. I actually get more joy out of Campfire these days then I do from wayfarer. It’s more rewarding to see people getting nice Pokémon from Meetups you created. There is a feeling of accomplishment from it. It takes a lot of effort to keep things up to date and keep other players informed but seeing someone else catch a Shiny or Hundo during a meetup just feels good.

I’m still popping in a doing a few reviews when I have time or nothing else to do but, nowhere near as much as I used to do.

Saying that, the gameplay has seemed to improve a little recently so hopefully Wayfarer follows suit.

For more information write me on campfire

But for sure, try it, it’s funny :upside_down_face:

Ohhhhh. Sorry, I seen the bridge submission and taught that’s where it was from.

It is. I walked Dunbar To Edinburgh last year but I wasn’t on my own and not-we have a tendency to roll their eyes at you if you stop every 15 minutes so missed lots.

Woah!

You can scroll around and see every Wayspot in the database?

No

I can see 6 surrounding stops. I know them, so there’re not hidden ingresses or what ever.
But it seems to prefer east, south and west - north is empty, but I know minimum one more which I would expected by this radius :woman_shrugging:t2:

I’m a tester at heart. Maybe it’s time for a nightwalk
Or I stay calm and do it tomorrow

What is the radius it shows up to?

I always toggle their sh1tty system to off as soon as the screen comes up.

I have noticed that raid bosses can regain hp/health when all of my team faints when I’m soloing a raid. Didn’t think of it as a bug tho… Just something that’s harder about solo raid. I assumed it was part of an attempt to incentivise people to play in teams…

Yes you don’t need this. I think the radius is 200m

Nope, its a bug, happens in groups too, and even happens when you dont faint, and its random. There are so many bugs, but this is a big one and affects many attempts.

Thanks. I’ll stick with the app we are not supposed to use

I see where you’re coming from, and I hope you get what you need to keep going because you obviously contribute a lot to this community. For my part, I’d like to hold out to you the occasional review I see, and you prolly do too, where the nominator has really put a lot of work into it. When I’m reviewing I see myself as working for them, which I guess makes me feel better than what may well be the reality! (Oh, also want the PoGo platinum badge !)

I wish we would supposed to use this app :pensive:
Or something different :woman_shrugging:t2:
A few days ago someone suggested to show, while starting your nomination, the inclusion rules. Maybe grids, or a warning.

Why is it necessary that a pogo player submit portals, mushrooms and what ever?

Interesting, my experience is anecdotal, I understand that… But I’ve never seen this happen in a group raid and it always happens in a solo so I have a hard time accepting that solo vs. multiple raider has nothing to do with this issue.
