I think a lot of it is frustration, especially in Pogo because players are submitting decent stops but the cell rules mean they never appear even if passed. Pogo especially with just 1 wayspot per cell. There is nothing worse then going to the effort to get a good photo, research the background and try to give the local community a better playing area just to have a submission end up in a completely different game and you can’t even see your own hard work.
Local knowledge seems to have a no weight in submissions or reviewing. If you go by the criteria, explore clearly states, something that is significant to the local community, yet this goes out the window as soon as it’s submitted.
I’ve had a few of these. Local areas have hidden histories that outsiders won’t know, I try to give a good description, background, story on anything I submit, granted, some submissions don’t need much explanation, but others that may not look like much can have interesting background.
As for rewards, I believe some in-game items, unique avatars, in PoGo- raid passes (premium and after so many reviews a remote pass), incubators (you can never have enough), Eggs, starpieces etc…that would help you progress in the game would be welcome. Even after you reach so many reviews, the odd ticket for an event would Def make it more worthwhile. Real world items would also be nice but there is a cost factor to that. Personally direct contact, live discussion/meetings where submissions, criteria, rejections, upcoming features, suggestions could be discussed would also make me more interested as it feels that writing an appeal is often a wasted exercise.
As for the other games, I don’t play them so others would know better for those what would be helpful and rewarding.
I’ve grown weary of reviewing lately also. I’ve submissions in that were last seen almost 6-8 weeks ago and they seem to take forever to get a decision.
I was reviewing daily, I eased off when I noticed my rating drop from great to good for no reason and since they figured out what caused it, it still is stuck at good so that has also put me off.
Seeing wayspots in game or on the map when reviewing ,that I have rejected on multiple occasions for various reasons (fake, completely wrong location, same stop moved to different locations and submitted again etc.) just wears you down, when you submit something genuine just to see it rejected with a ridiculous reason. I guess I’m just a bit fed up of it at the moment.
I think the player/game side gets forgotten for the wayfarer side. People, the majority of the time get introduced to wayfarer, not by going and seeking it out but because they want to better the area they live, work, travel through, for the game they play. This seems to get cast aside for “The Map”. Hence, a lot of people just give up and if they are not submitting, then why would they bother reviewing!
Granted common sense needs to apply but a few extra eligible items in each category might make a big difference in smaller areas, giving more options for eligible Wayspots and a direct appeals route where you actually speak to someone to explain why something should be accepted, is not in line with the rejection reason etc. might remedy that but I feel that will never happen.
Anyway, I just popped in to see some of @26thDoctor benches and bridges:rofl: and spotted this discussion. But I feel the same right now. Just not motivated, bit disheartened and hoping for change, items or rewards would be nice and would probably get me more interested. Maybe that Iron bru and a mars bar may work.
How did your trek go btw?
