Rewards for reviewing and nomatations

Whilst I can understand it is frustrating to have your Wayspot nominations rejected, I can’t say that’s my experience.

Do you mind sharing what you have nominated, so we can help with any feedback? As for incorrectly placed Wayspots, you can submit a location edit if nearby and the one you mention in the middle of a lake can be reported for no pedestrian access (assuming it is not a building that can be accessed by some people, as there’s a similar situation about a stones throw away from me).

I feel that pain in this. Our community is also just the same. Have Pokestops in weird places that clearly for players own interests.

I have been saying this for years now. If they gave me a nickel or heck even a penny(0.05% of what they make per remote pass used) for every paid raid pass used at a gym I created, which we are talking hundreds of them, I would be a very rich man. I guarantee a lot more people would be out searching for poi and will be wanting to earn those upgrades quick. No one else seems to think it is a good idea so I gave up long ago on my genius idea lol.

I suggested before about some sort of currency system that could then be traded in for whatever that person wanted. 100 points for an upgrade, or an incubator, or kinetic capsule etc. I’d personally love to have some real-world swag included too.

I’m sure this would be too much work for Niantic and require communication between teams which we know is poor at the best of times unfortunately. I cant see it happening but we can at least dream.

We need something as a motivator, especially as so many people have become disillusioned by the process, something like this could bring people back and encourage new wayfarers to join in too.

I do feel that any motivator has to be balanced, anything that encourages people to do these sorts of tasks can become unhealthy as is more common with these sorts of gamified systems that cause people to obsess and overdo things.

About upgrades, they can be useful… but where I am it only takes about a week or two for a decision, adding an upgrade shaves a few days off that. But where submissions are backlogged it can be a real help.

Hello,
It is frustrating when you recieve rejections, especially if in addition the reasons given do not make sense. And it is ok to vent about the experience you are having whilst trying to submit new wayspots and seeing others around you that you feel are in some way wrong.
I’m not sure if you want to leave your contribution to this thread as it stands or Cif having described your experience you would like to follow up with some fellow wayfinder support.
If you would like support about the nominations you have made then do post one or two examples Nomination Support.
If you woukd like some support around wayspots that you consider invalid or inaccurate do try over in Wayfarer Basics or a new topic here so that people can advise on the best way forward.

Wayfarers do stand in a rather unique position where they are the ones who connect Niantic’s games up with people in the real world. They are designers of an aspect of how any game is experienced. They curate, edit and interpret. They may appear on-line, in-game, and in the real world as well.

The corporate game-designers would do well to include game-world recognition and overworld as well. It would be fantastic if Ambassadors got special swag that identified their contribution, like fancy t-shirts that identified them as Wayfarer Ambassadors, similar items for their in-game characters.

Ambassadors or somewhat random statistical audits could reward individual wayfarers with similar wayfarer swag of a non-ambassador level.

If they want to continue the Wayfarer system, Niantic needs to think of, invest in, and support the people and the system that underlie it. We are its avatars.

No im not shar I ng nothing i. Not waisting my time helping this game no more out of 14 stops i put in not 1 was accepted im done good luck ill delete my wayfair account later

I do feel your pain. And all the submission is within the criteria of wayfarer. As if a group of people in your community, is doing it on purpose to get there POI approved etc.

How could this be a bad thing? @RealFrozenPizza. It would help players and niantic.

Moderator edit: Removed unnecessary sentence. Please maintain respectful and relevant discourse. Thank you.

So if someone has limited expression ability you say that person is incapable of making nominations?

That is stereotyping and narrow minded. I one of those people. Who use in speech application to help me express myself correctly.

… So you basically saying my disability should make unable to nominate? You should not be part of such a community who can’t take the collective data and people in mind. Stereotyping and taking away from people. Who have limitations… Wow !!! Can’t believe Niantic allow this…

Please you should know there actually humans who struggle with these things.

lol what are babbling on about? No one is even speaking to you. Stereotyping? What? Limitations?
14 nominations, and not 1 was approved? That person is doing something wrong/ they may be bad at reading, or understanding what it is they’re supposed to do. Bad at reaching out for help/ asking questions. how that is attacking anyone is crazy… lol no one said anything about any dissabilities, but thanks for letting us know you’ll gladly use your disability as a tool to emotionally hijack a thread.

Hey…

Not going to take this any further. From all your past post it just negative/offensive. Seems like you enjoy being someone who talk negative. And attack people. Using myself as an example is not creating a thread.

Thank you for leaving us your input. May you have a good day :star2::smile_cat:

Hi everyone, while we understand discussions can become heated, let’s remember to maintain a respectful tone towards one another. Please refrain from personal attacks or assumptions about others’ intentions. Thank you for your cooperation.

Submitted yesterday, I had an upgrade so I used it.

First three all accepted within 5 minutes of each other a day later. It’s a lot better than waiting 18 months, I guess.

I don’t really care that I used an upgrade though as they are kind of meaningless to me now. It would be nice get some sort of recognition for adding to the map/reviewing before we become surplus to requirement for reviewing.

I wish I lived in an area where I didn’t need to be concerned about upgrades! All of my nominations still sit in voting or my queue for quite a while.

Greater London was at about 12-18 months for me until recently.

I may be incorrect but I think it was a combination of the UK challenge reducing years of submissions, Emily, Go players submitting less as they are aware of how cells function and generally won’t submit something in an occupied cell and maybe Ingress players submitting less since Niantic have been pretending they don’t exist for a while.

I am really happy for you. And think your fellow player will be too. For the new Pokestops.

And yes we all feel the same as you do :smile_cat:

You have already been answered here, this is quite easy to research. Review your own stops - #5 by seaprincesshnb There is no reason this island shouldn’t have POI. There is a restoration project ongoing. People are visiting it by kayak or boat, there is no rule in Wayfarer against locations like these. The POI that is there exists and is well visible on satellite. I would suggest you stop posting the same gym as your complaint is unfounded and since this is something you could have checked for yourself.
