Maybe but with the investment into Scopely I have a feeling they are investing in the mapping part with Wayfarer to be able to continue to use the database if they are selling the lightship database as well.
I’m not missing anything… I know how the system works.
The Pokéstops that appear on the gameboard are put there because they were submitted through Wayfarer.
This is my point.
Unless Scopely was developing their own system of populating the map it make sense they are taking Wayfarer.
Well…here’s hoping scopely’s announcement posts aren’t just the usual corporate speak to keep people around. I’d love to see some of their higher ups drop in to interact with the community here and there - IMO that’d be a good indication of how genuine they are.
As for ingress, I suspect niantic will just end up paying a fee to keep access to wayfarer data for that game, unless the deal has some kind of clause stating that they retain the right to still use that data without any further costs. Would love to see further clarification on that though.
Now this gets me thinking, in a good way!
They could change the inclusion rules… Tempts fait
That may not be an option if the inclusion rules for Pokemon Go are decided by the Pokemon company and not niantic.
Don’t be too sure on that.
I feel the density/inclusion rules are less chosen by Pokémon Co and more by Niantic, so I think Scopely will still have say over those.
I feel like they may make more sponsored stops?
Also given their focus is gaming rather than mapping and data I do wonder how wayfarer would change going forward - maybe wider criteria to help lower density areas play more easily for example?
Digressing point. I wonder if Pokemon Go will become more like the Main Series Games but with a in person focus.
No idea, I never played any of the games except Go so would be clueless
Je viens dapprendre la rachat confirme de scopely , que va t il arriver a wayfarer sachant que niantic nest plus proprietaires de leur jeux ?
Niantic still owns Ingress, Peridot, and Scaniverse.
Scopely will own Pokémon Go, Monster Hunter Now, Pikmin Bloom, Campfire, and Wayfarer.
So in theory, if you’re a Wayfarer user through Pokémon Go, then nothing should change. If you’re a Wayfarer user through Ingress, then we can assume that something will likely have to change there, but we currently don’t have any information on that.
I saw an article that said it was acquiring a majority of its Niantic gaming division from Scopley, a subsidiary of Savvy Games Group.
The games being acquired included Pokémon GO and Wayfarer.
But Ingress was not included.
Wayspot is based on Ingress, right?
I don’t think there’s anything coming out yet, but…
Wayfarer and Ingress were operating in the same Niantic game division. When acquired by Scopley, Ingress remained in Niantic and Wayfarer moved to Scopley, becoming a different company.
In this regard, we are concerned about whether there will be any changes in the main contents related to Wayspot.
This content is also related to Wayfarer, but will it be hidden because it is not related to Wayspot?
I checked after I wrote that there was a similar article right below
Aww man thats gonna be irritating, having tk submit the same thing twice on different games lol
Money is why. It’s what underlines everything.
Hopefully this won’t affect us here too much and this will take a few months to settle before we start feeling the full effect of the sale.
I’m not sure exactly what you mean ……so for clarity
Historically wayspots were first submitted through Ingress as there was no Pokémon Go, Operation Portal Recon.
And the data went into the ingress database. When Pokémon Go came along they used that data from Ingress.
Submissions when approved went to Ingress > Pokémon Go
With Lightship this all changed. They went into a separate database and then the games go to that database to select wayspots for their games
Database >Ingress
Database> Pokémon Go
This is why we refer to Wayfarer as being game agnostic.
希望Scopely 公司會善待遊戲不會在登入介面或是抓寶時強制彈出廣告要求玩家去觀賞,進而獲得利益。(本文章並非針對新公司,只是我個人看法)。
Watch those video clips - earn an nomination upgrade…
There is so many places to fill with possibilities for further micro transactions and advertisements. We all hope for the best, and that this isn’t something happening, but the future will tell.
