So are trail markers eligible again or not?

I see no reason why cycling trail markers should be any less eligible than hiking trail markers. Especially not in the Netherlands, which has a massive cycling culture and probably the best cycling infrastructure in the world.

@NianticAaron I would really like the go-ahead before I waste hours of my time.

@NianticAaron did we ever get an exact answer to the question of named trail marker eligibility?

Attached you will see that I received a rejected appeal for a permanent and named trail marker because as a “normal marker” it does not meet the criteria. Except for the fact it is a named marker on a designated route so Niantic not even following their poorly constructed and loose guidelines.

In my showcase titles, similar trail markers are shown, with at least one of them just showing “normal markers”. The guidelines that Niantic direct you to review continue to show trail markers as eligible and sought after waypoints.

The trail is what is being submitted using the markers as anchors.
You do need to ensure that you describe the trail.

Those first ones are literally the exact same ones that are listed as eligible in the criteria clarification.

For anyone that’s unsure, this is the recent Criteria Clarification on Trail markers:

They also have a marker for a named trail on them.

They are not just PROW in whatever the county is…

I’m honestly getting tired of this whole song and dance. What good is the lawbook if the lawmen refuse to follow it and make up their own laws instead?
