Submission Confirmation Emails

Thank you for your reports regarding the missing confirmation emails following Wayspot submissions. Our team has gathered these details and investigating the issue. Please feel free to share any additional reports here for the team to look into.

Elaborating with additional info from Ambassadors:

  • Users experiencing this issue will have both the email not arrive AND the nomination will not show up on the Contribution Management list.
  • This has been observed to affect nominations from various sources (Pokemon Go client, Pokemon Go Upload Later, Web Submission).
  • This has been observed to also be able to affect photo edits.
  • It is possible to affect one nomination from a batch with nominations before and after not being affected.
  • Although the emails do not appear initially, we have tended to observe them arrive later (e.g. 24 hours after the original submission). When it reappears on your Contributions, it will be ordered correctly based on the original time you hit submit.

Recommendation for users:

  • Do NOT resubmit if you have a nomination or photo edit which does not show up on Contributions Management list / do not have an email. Wait at least 48 hours before attempting to resubmit.

I didn’t know there was an issue and submitted mine 3-4 times after waiting a reasonable amount of time, once was after 24 hrs with no notification, because it didn’t seem to be working. Am I at risk of being banned for duplicate submissions? I didn’t have an email confirmation and there was no indication that the submission was actually active.

We are awaiting clarification from the team about the issue, so please be patient.

Since this is a logged failure there should be no issues.
Best case is that the team retrieve all of those submitted during this window, and that they appear in everyone’s contributions. You can then hold/withdraw as necessary.

We are aware of an issue where nominations submitted over the last few days are not appearing in the Contribution Management page and are not generating confirmation emails.

Once nomination is finally appearing, please give us enough time to edit. Many of us send contributions with just random letter when they’re too far from home.

One of my friend’s submissions was in voting already when it reappeared just now

One of my two went into voting an hour after appearing.

My miday saturday submissions have appeared just after 6 Monday. I was able to withdraw the two duplicates that were made thankfully!

Pretty sure all the ones I submitted a couple days ago have gone through now. Too bad I always put ‘temp’ for the description (to edit it later on the website where it’s easier) and now a couple of those have gone into voting before I could get a chance to put them on hold… :melting_face:

@NianticAaron could you withdraw the one that is in voting so the other one can enter? That one actually has a description and stuff :smiley:

10 of my submissions has already gone into voting when they came through. And I usually Edit when I get back home. Is it possible to cancel them even though they are in voting? Because they will all be namned “hehe” or something.

And is it possible to “start them up again”? Or do I have to renominate them? @NianticAaron

Yes, you will need to re-nominate them. There is no way to send them back. We regret the inconvenience.
