My submissions have been sitting for months and months and months. its so frustrating because this has happened for all my submissions. But im part of a local facebook, campfire, and discord community and i see local trainers having their spots submitted and approved in under a months time. I work in an electronics manufacturing facility for a living and ive never had a bigger feeling that some human is interferring with my submissions and not some system. I understand how to write a program. I dont understand this at all.
Hello and welcome,
Sorry to hear that your submissions haven’t been resolved yet. It’s not uncommon for some submissions to take this long, and it all depends on the number of reviewers in your area. The Wayfarer FAQ even notes that they can’t provide a specific timeframe or the exact number of reviews needed:
How many reviews does it take to make a final decision on a Wayspot’s eligibility?
This exact number cannot be disclosed at this time, however, we can say that this depends on the performance of each individual Wayfinder.
It’s possible that the others in your area may use upgrades, which does open submissions up to a larger review area, and may lead to a faster resolution. You can earn upgrades by reviewing yourself, and for every 100 agreements you have, you get 1 upgrade. More info on upgrades can be found here:
You may even want to ask your local groups if they have been using upgrades, or if their nominations were auto-accepted by ML, the AI system, back when it was working correctly. ML hasn’t been auto-accepting nominations since about the end of November. ML decisions have emails that say “our team” made the decision, not “our community.”
Is your nomination in the same S14 cell as another unresolved nomination? If so, they may be in a “deadly embrace” - one’s waiting on the other, and the other is waiting on the one.
Is your nomination within 50 miles of a big city? Specifically: in the same S9 cell as a big city (or is it S6)? Places that are NOT in the a very large cell with a city are fast-tracked. Which is another way to say: maybe yours are slow-tracked.
Are there many reviewers in your area? This is pretty impossible to tell, unless you’re active in both your local PokemonGo community AND in your local Ingress community.
Is your nomination… less than a shoo-in? If votes are split (some yes, some no), it will take more voters to come to a consensus. I also personally believe that skips can throw a nomination into limbo, making it seem resolved to some internal code, but unresolved by some other code.
Your best bet is to earn an upgrade (by reviewing until you have 100 agreements), and apply it to this nomination. (First: Go to settings and set Automatic Upgrade to OFF or Niantic will assign your upgrade as soon as you earn it.)
The same thing is happening with me but unfortunately I don’t even have campfire app in my country. Here we can’t even get in contact with other players. Moreover here number of high level players is way too fewer.
Campfire is only one of the communication methods they are using with their community. They also noted that they are using social media to talk to other locals.
Besides, not all local Campfire groups talk about Wayfarer, as they may focus more on the games. I don’t think I’ve seen anyone post about Wayfarer in my local PoGo group on Campfire.
