I have a question about nominations. Why do some nominations sit “In Queue” for weeks on end, while others get “Accepted” fairly quick?
This could be due to the amount of reviewers in your area, if you don’t have many people reviewing it will take longer to progress.
It can also be “proximity blocked” if there are a lot of nearby nominations.
Hello and welcome,
There is no set timeframe for resolution, as this can depend on how many submissions are in your local queue, as well as the number of reviewers in your area. This is noted in the Wayfarer FAQ:
How many reviews does it take to make a final decision on a Wayspot’s eligibility?
This exact number cannot be disclosed at this time, however, we can say that this depends on the performance of each individual Wayfinder.
If you want your nominations to be resolved quicker, you may want to review yourself. Reviewing can also help you gain upgrades, which, when applied to a submission, opens them up to a larger review area, which may speed up resolution.
That’s my bad for not looking at the FAQ more closely. Ive been on social media and in message boards long enough to know better.
I have been reviewing nominations, but it takes a lot of reviews to get to the 100% to be able to get an upgrade. I’m trying to get there, but it’s slow going.
It seems that I may be the only one in my area. I’ve made 5 submissions so far. 2 in one park, and two at a college campus, and an edit on the same campus. One of the subs in the park got picked up in a day, while the others are all still in queue.
That’s the proximity issue - one local area (not sure how that is defined) won’t get lots of open submissions at one time. It might be just one at a time. You should fine that once the first sub gets completed, another one goes into voting.
I live in a area with 3 4 year colleges and a couple 2 years, and when summer starts the reviewing can be delayed a bit, especially if the students don’t stay for the summer. I’m also one of the few in the area that actually submit edits, and it seems that some in my area like to skip those, even though they’re easy to do.
As fro upgrades, you get 1 upgrade for every 100 agreements you receive. Agreements are when your review decision matches with other reviewers. They can take some time to get; even if you do 100 reviews every day, they may not all get resolved by the next day; you might see only a small percentage of those get resolved. So, yes, it can take time to get upgrades. Here’s more info on agreements and upgrades, if you’re wondering about them:
