I submitted a Wayspot about a month ago and is still in queue. It has been in queue for over a month and I don’t know how much longer it will take for it to go into Voting or get rejected. Has anyone had anything similar happen?
This is very standard behavior. Nominations can be decided in a day, or not for years. If you know other Wayfarers in your area, you can ask them how long it usually takes. You can also earn an upgrade for your nomination by reviewing others’ nominations. That upgrade should send your nomination to a wider review pool when you apply it.
Okay, that is good knowing that it’s normal. Thanks
Hello and welcome,
Sorry for any misunderstandings, but there is no standard timeframe for when a nomination will be resolved. It can take days, weeks, months, even years in some parts of the world, and it also depends on how many reviewers are in your area.
Niantic also notes they can’t discourse how many votes are needed for resolution in the Wayfarer FAQ:
How many reviews does it take to make a final decision on a Wayspot’s eligibility?
This exact number cannot be disclosed at this time, however, we can say that this depends on the performance of each individual Wayfinder.
I myself have a title and description edit for the same Wayspot that has been in voting for 2 months now. It’s in a rural area with few reviewers. I don’t want to upgrade as Google Maps has the name of the park the playground is at listed incorrectly, so I’m hoping the local reviewers will vote in favor of the changes, so I’m not upgrading them.
Welcome to the community. I’ve had some submissions that have been in Queue and voting mode for over a year (from recollection). Would have been nice to get them voted on a lot sooner, but hasn’t affected my enjoyment of submitting waypoints.
