Oh wow, nice!! Glad someone managed it
Thankyou for checking
Would you call these bench Wayspots, or trailmarker Wayspots? They are plaques for a trail but placed on benches.
Those who don’t like long titles should look away now.
Then finally, a set of what may be the best benches in the world*
They all light up and change colours!
*at least in this little part of London, to me.
I would definitely say trail. They’re awesome!
They seem great to me but where are your DFBs?
Bring out your dead
Hey everyone! I appreciate the humor and banter here, but perhaps it’s worth considering shifting the focus of this discussion to highlight some exemplary benches. Sharing positive examples could offer valuable insights for others seeking to nominate Wayspots.
My light bench was not exemplary enough? (joking)
We would really need both ends of the spectrum to work towards a better understanding of benches
Some of the fantastic submissions like @PkmnTrainerJ and others have posted at one end and mine at the other.
Here’s the coolest bench I’ve submitted! It’s massive and on the weekends it’s always got people sunbathing on it.
I was really surprised to find this in the middle of nowhere in the English Lake district. Don’t know how common they were at the time, but I’ve never seen another one ever, so for a metal bench to survive in excellent condition for so long is crazy.
I haven’t seen one similar anywhere either amazing it has lasted.
I’m dying to see, not just DFBs, other amazing benches now.
Oh I reviewed that one, I remember thinking it was one those things you come across and think what are you doing here.
Good to see it again.
I find that I cannot imagine a thread that is doing a better job of sticking to its subject than this one.
What - specifically - do you want to see here? Training images for Machine Learning? This is the General Discussion sub-forum, and you are not the OP.
Perhaps create your own thread and see if you can articulate your desires in a manner that helps us contribute to it…
I believe I’ve only submitted one memorial bench (but had to do it twice, as it got rejected the first time).
However it is super local (a good throw with a small stone and I could probably hit it on a walk) so I’d rather not share and doxx myself.
I did put lots of effort in to explain how this person was significant to the community, and why they ended up getting a bench dedicated to them…I did then mention that said person was actually truly awful if you knew them in person, but that I still felt their bench met the Wayfarer criteria.
Notable can work both ways I think
