Hi! It’s actually very simple. This player comes to chats in other cities and says that he rejects playgrounds, unique cafes, and restaurants. Furthermore, he created his own Telegram channel where he posts all the nominations he’s reviewed and writes his opinions on them. I personally consider this to be influencing the reviewer. Maybe it’s time to hold this player accountable? His opinion is too critical and doesn’t reflect the spirit of Wayfarer or our gaming community. He deliberately rejects nominations where, for example, he didn’t like the photo, but the nomination is good and exists. And then he goes to the forum and private messages the ambassadors so that the players who submitted such nominations can be re-examined and punished. I think this is too much.
I don’t think this is a black-and-white issue - there does appear to be two sides here but there are faults on both sides.
I read/skimmed through the thread linked above. Some of the criticisms from @DenialN1 are legitimate, as misplacing wayspots by even a small distance to drop them into a cell in which they do not exist is abuse. GPS drift is no excuse for this. Photos used in wayspot submissions should not be posted anywhere else, because wayspot submissions are anonymous and there is no way to prove it is your photo, not a stolen photo.
No one reviewer can cause submissions to be rejected, either by in-line abuse rejections or by reporting to Niantic. For the location rejections, this needs to be multiple reviewers and no-one has suggested that @DenialN1 is multi-accounting.
However, there is little doubt that @DenialN1 is much harsher with wayspot criteria than most people, to the extent that almost everyone has found themselves in disagreement with their judgements. This doesn’t stop some of what they are saying being legitimate.
Hello @SilentBlood
if you have evidence of deliberate wrong behaviour please use this form to report and provide evidence.
Absolutely true. If a player misspoke their geolocation when submitting a nomination, any reviewer can move it to the correct position during voting, as long as the nomination exists and meets Niantic’s criteria. Regarding photos, 99.9% of nominators aren’t professional photographers, and most can’t afford the latest iPhone. If I’m out walking and see a bad photo, it’s easy for me to replace it, scroll through this PokéStop a couple of times, send gifts, and ask friends to choose a better photo (likes on photos can be collected this way, too). Regarding false nominations, reasonable reviewers reject them using the appropriate evaluation criteria.

It’s not quite that simple. No one reviewer can move the location. It is likely that Niantic take an average of the locations, so if half the reviewers correct a location (all to the same place), the result will probably be halfway between that location and the original.
If I notice a location error and it is suspicious (*), I will reject for inaccurate location because the chances are very high that the submitter is committing abuse. I will not be responsible for accepting the wayspot and finding it appears as a pokestop in the wrong place.
Deliberately misplacing a submission is abuse. Carelessly misplacing it because you weren’t paying attention when submitting and didn’t correct the location is not abuse, but is definitely careless, definitely risky, and can cause both a rejection and a strike.
() generally this means there are other existing wayspots nearby and the real location would be blocked by them so couldn’t appear as a pokestop. If the submission is nowhere near anything else, location errors tend not to be suspicious.
Hello everyone,
Thank you for engaging in this discussion!
@DenialN1 it appears you came to the forum to voice concerns, but the conversation has shifted toward you attempting to enforce your specific perspectives on what constitutes an “interesting” or “valuable” Wayspot.
You’ve stated your opinions, and others have shared theirs. If you still believe that the community is wrong and you are right, the most productive path forward is to re-evaluate your reasoning or create individual topics for Wayspot examples.
@SilentBlood if you believe that any player is engaging in abuse, the appropriate and necessary action is to use the Abuse Form to submit evidence for investigation.
I can assure you that they haven’t had a private conversation with any other forum members here. Please reconsider before making public, baseless accusations, as we take all forms of community misconduct seriously.
As this discussion has run its course and is now moving toward personal conflict and specific player disputes, we will be closing this thread to further comments. Thank you for your understanding.
