Three wayspots removed after I asked to move them

When submitting a Wayspot Appeal, make sure to include as much of the following information as possible:

  • Wayspot Title: Brückenstraße Infotafel Wasserwerk

  • Location (lat/lon): 48.518194,9.068422

  • City: Tübingen

  • Country: Germany

  • Wayspot Title: Das Neckarwerk

  • Location (lat/lon): 48.518243,9.069535

  • City: Tübingen

  • Country: Germany

  • Wayspot Title: Neckarwehr

  • Location (lat/lon): 48.518237,9.068961

  • City: Tübingen

  • Country: Germany

I asked to move these three spots to their correct position and they seem to have been removed altogether? I don’t understand what removal criteria they would meet.

This is the photo I had provided of the info signs. The only explanation I have is that they thought there wasn’t safe pedestrian access but they’re literally info signs meant to be read by pedestrians? Street view is probably confusing since it’s showing construction but this street is meant for pedestrians and bicycles only, vehicles are only allowed to pass if they have business at the weir. The gate to the left is quite obviously meant for humans, I don’t think a car could fit through there. And the general spot for the historical weir was removed? Really? The ENTIRE area doesn’t have safe pedestrian access? I genuinely don’t understand.

This is a screenshot from maps that shows cars aren’t allowed to pass (pillar to prevent them)

Could it perhaps be some sort of sync problem or delay, or has it been long enough that you can probably rule that out?

I’m not sure what sync problem would cause them to disappear from the map both online and in-game

Maybe they did register them being removed from their old location but not them appearing at their new locations.

Or Niantic just decided to remove them altogether. Those are probably the only two options.

@NianticAaron Just making sure my appeal is in queue correctly this time?

Thanks for the appeal, @wooperIooper! We have taken another look, but stand by our decision to retire the Wayspots in question.

May I ask why please?

Hi @NianticLC @NianticAaron I never got a reply when I asked why these were removed. I would like to know in case community members would try to resubmit them

These Wayspots were in violation of our policies (not accessible safely).

We can’t be having fellow players pushing other players in the road as they are spinning stops. Shakes fists

We certainly can’t have them be pushed into… a pedestrian walkway, apparently

Hi sorry but that doesn’t make any sense. It’s a historic weir that offers tours and has a history section?

The signs are in a bicycle and pedestrian-only area but I guess if you say bicycles make it unsafe that’s fine.

But the weir wayspot, especially with the location change I proposed, is perfectly safe to access.

Let me repeat that the only street view that makes it look unsafe is from when they had construction work done, which was a couple of years ago. Having been a construction site at some point shouldn’t mean something is excluded from being able to have wayspots in the present. Because every building in existence was built at some point.

Maybe not the solution that you are looking for, but in the two empty cells, you (or someone else) could probably nominate the pedestrian bridge, and the Neckarwerk Tübbinge, and agree the location was safe.

edit:

see also the streetview from the other side of the bridge, it shows the bridges are pedestrian and bike only;

I appreciate that but Neckarwerk is the removed wayspot that I’m trying to get reinstated. My friend is nominating the foot bridge

What I mean is, there is already a wayspot in the correct location for the sign, so why not use the actual building as the wayspot.

There were three different wayspots, one for the building and two for different info signs. All three were removed, I’m trying to get at least the one for the building reinstated. Staff seems to believe the entire building is unsafe or they wouldn’t have removed the general wayspot for the building

Hi @NianticAaron did you have a chance to look t the additional proof provided?
