I haven’t been reviewig in a while and started again yesterday. I’m just doing it for the game badge but I want to follow the rules the best I can. I keep seeing nominations like in the screenshot below. Players generally falsely claim these are cyling and hiking bridges, while they are actually normal traffic bridges. I want to reject them but since the community seems to accept de most of them it hurts my rating. Should I mark these as abuse or just thumbsdown on permanent and distinct?
This is far from the only thing the community here mindlessly accepts. I feel like a lot of local reviewers are just abusing the system since I see more and more bad wayspots that don’t fit the criteria when I’m playing.
Hey @AyakayA
Welcome to the wayfarer forums,
As a fellow Dutch reviewer I know exactly what you are talking about.
You are absolutely right, these normal bridges don’t meet the criteria and should be rejected as such.
But even when we reject them the rest of the reviewers still accept them. I have seen them in the game all of the time.
In these cases it is best to skip the submission so it does not hurt your rating.
For personal experience, usually I have to use all of my skips everyday if I even want to review a fair bunch, just because how many I see that get accepted by community, but should be rejected.
I feel like most Dutch reviewers aren’t very aware of the criteria, I have removed so many ineligible submissions already, because of bad community accept.
Anyhow, skip the submission if you are not sure what to vote or in this case when you know it hurts your rating.
Let me know if you have any more questions.
Good luck.
Thanks for the welcome and thanks for your advice!
Since skipping does solve my problem with getting agreements I will start doing that more often. But I don’t think that is the best solution for our situation here. You put this too nice:
I think its more accurate to say a large part of the community completely ignores the current criteria when reviewing. All they do is accept as much as they can to get benefits from in the games. And the players that are follow the rules suffer from fewer agreements/bad ratings.
I don’t think there is a bettee solution here, skipping isnall we can do for now.
The reason I put it that way was to not be too negative about the reviewers. I can’t make assumptions for every reviewer and it is also not nice to spreas negativity about the reviewers here..
Yeah I have to agree on that is the only thing we can do. With the tools we have we cant have a better impact on the quality like things are. I understand not wanting to be negative about other reviewers. For me it is hard not to be negative about them as the sheer amount of bad quality wayspots will outnumber the good is this keeps up.
I feel you.
I keep removing wayspots just because they were falsely acceptee by the community.
I wish I could count them on my fingers, but long past that.
The only thing that can help is that reviewers are bettee educated on cases we get here all the time, likes bridges, hiking markers etc. And lose the reviewers who only vote positive, although I have the complete opposite with only rejections in my eligible nominations, but anyhow, education is what is neccesary, and that is something that is a hard thing to dk.
