Upcoming Changes to Nomination Reviews

Hello Explorers,

There is a change coming next week to your experience while reviewing Wayspot nominations. In this change, we have combined the Location Accuracy and the Duplicates Check questions. So what does this mean for your reviewing experience?

To start, you will now be looking for Duplicates of the Wayspot nomination while also checking for the Location Accuracy. While reviewing, make sure to check for obvious Duplicates first since if it is a Duplicate, that will finish the review just like it does in your current (soon to be previous) reviewing experience. After ensuring as much as possible that it’s not a Duplicate, you can move onto checking the Location Accuracy within the same question. You will still have the option to Suggest A New Location (that experience did not change) and you will still have the 5-star rating component. (see below)

Now that these questions have been combined into one, you can rate them in the following ways:

  • Rate 5 stars if you can find the Wayspot nomination on the map, the marker is on or within a few feet of the object’s real-world location, and it is not a duplicate.
  • Rate 3 stars if the Wayspot nomination is likely to exist in the real-world location if obscured by trees, if you are unsure of the real-world location, and is not a duplicate.
  • Rate 1 star if the Wayspot nomination cannot be found on the map and it is not a duplicate.

For additional information or questions about the new process please review our support page Reviewing a Wayspot Nomination after the change is made.

Hello Explorers,

As some of you may have noticed by now, we had added the street address back to the nomination while reviewing. You will see it back in the same location it was prior. Thank you for all of your feedback.

Safe Exploring!
