Hi
Can anyone tell exact number of Niantic Games and what game we can play on what device?
How many we can easily on Mobile or Laptop etc?
By playing what Niantic Games we can become a wayfarer and what level is required?(Obviously it means we can nominate places for Portals or PokeStop, recently I visited a place where I nominated one for PokeStop. There I saw on map marks that these places were reserved for other games. I also play IngressPrime, I opened it but there was no portal in the whole area.)
These are the games,
IngressPrime, Pokemon Go, PikiminBloom, Monster hunter
What connection these games have with wayfarer or other Niantic Games
Pokemon Home,
Pokémon Scarlet and Violet
Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! and Let’s Go, Eevee!
According to the Wikipedia,
They feature connectivity with the mobile game Pokémon Go and support an optional controller, the Poké Ball Plus.
Though I don’t know how…
Please share your knowledge if you have in simple wording. Everyone thank you in advance.
Hello @HarutoSora
I think I can answer most of your questions.
Niantic currently has 5 games that use wayspots:
- Ingress - need to be Level 8 to nominate
- Pokemon Go - need to be level 37 to nominate
- Pikmin Bloom
- Peridot
- Monster Hunter Now
An accepted wayspot first goes on Niantics (Lightship) map. Then each game has an opportunity to use these wayspots based on game specific inclusion rules. That means a wayspot could be in one, several, all, or none of the games.
Nintendo partners with Niantic on Pokemon Go and Pikmin Bloom. But Niantic has nothing to do with other Pokemon game titles to the best of my knowledge.
I play on a mobile phone but think that some folks may be able to play the games on a tablet or iPad. It needs to be something portable as you need to interact with real world places.
Also, Ingress and Pokémon GO are the only ones that are fully connected to Wayfarer. The other titles rarely even take new location additions.
The entries you saw while opening Pokémon GO are probably the so called Powerspot imports - Niantic copied data from other map sources for Powerspots, disregarding any criteria. Which means, if you see such an entry, it never means that a similar object or place is allowed.
The map when nomination in PoGo and Ingress are currently different. PoGo will list any unused Wayspots or imports with an orange explanation point. If you click on the explanation point, it will tell you what it’s for, i.e. if it’s for a business or apartment building, something like that. Some of these explanation points, like noted, do not meet Wayspot criteria, as they most likely are Power Spot imports, but there are also imports that are used by other games.
Ingress right now doesn’t show duplicates or other game imports on the nomination map. It’s something that’s been asked by many to have fixed for quite some time now.
