My work is a waypoint but not a pokestop and it meets all the criteria. Why would this be?
The red pin is showing where you are placing a wayspot submission, not an existing wayspot.
We would need to know the actual coordinates to be able to tell you anything more, but you might want to consider if you want to share that information with everyone or not.
I know this but I’m too far away from it to show the waypoint. I checked while at work this morning and it is a waypoint
Welcome @Ketso
Niantic has several games currently (Ingress, Pokémon Go, Pikman Bloom, Peridot, and MHNow). Two games, Ingress and Pokémon Go encourage players at high levels to nominate new wayspots, though the use game immersive language Portals and Pokespots.
Once reviewed and if they are accepted the wayspots are included in the Lightship database. Then each game can choose to include these locations on their game boards. Each game has different inclusion rules. Ingress enforces 20 meter spacing between their selected wayspots. While the rest of the games seem to use various sized cells to have a certain density.
So there are times when your nomination is accepted onto the map but won’t show up in your preferred game
Gotcha, well, I’m not an expert geoguessr player, so I’ve got no clue where your work is then from that satellite photo, and without knowing that, at best we can say that it’s probably an inclusion criteria issue.
Sorry to nitpick here @LetsRollGirl but it’s “Pikmin” Bloom not “Pikman” just thought you should know this info.
Also many people don’t know about “Peridot” or “MHNow” or what it is when you abbreviate like this.
MHNow (Monster Hunter Now) & Peridot don’t seem to work outside of the USA as they are region restricted.
You have the pogo toggle on and I don’t see that it is a Waypoint. They will be marked like this in that screen. I believe the language issue that makes that screen not work has been fixed. The red in the middle that won’t move is the pointer for pinning a nomination.
If you tell us where this location is, we can check the map and see if it is a Waypoint. If you don’t have the actual coordinates, then you can give the name of the business and a general address.
I think they scrolled away from their physical location and that’s why it isn’t showing.
Thanks for the spelling correction on Pikmin Bloom
I’m not sure about regions but on launch day Monster Hunter Now (MHNow) was released in multiple languages:
“More than 3 million people pre-registered for Monster Hunter Now, which is available now in the App Store and Google Play, in nine languages: Japanese, English, Korean, Traditional Chinese, French, Italian, German, Spanish, and Brazilian Portuguese. Monster Hunter Now is especially designed for game play in parks and green spaces around the world.” — Niantic
Peridot tends to be a bit more of a cozy game from Niantic. You can walk around and raise cute little creatures! They are continually trying to build in more Augmented Reality Game (ARG) features. Thanks for asking about the other games @phantomr1982
One ingress question for you @LetsRollGirl and it’s a simple one
BLUE OR GREEN
Red!
“Ready Meats” is in the same level 17 s2 cell as “Waite Park Community Garden”
I’ve been an enlightened soul for so many years…. that it’s probably more realistic that I’m Machina at this point!
I’m very confused how this works. Why can only 1 pokestop or gym be in a lv17 s2 cell?
Because Niantic and/or The Pokémon Company have decided that it shall be so.
I can’t tell you why Niantic chose this way to decide what can be Pokestops. But here is a good article explaining how it works:
