Wayfarer Around The World!

Wayfinders, have you ever wondered how many and which different countries this community has explored, excercised or socialised in?

Then how about everyone posts 1 accepted nomination of a country not yet mentioned in this thread? Choose wisely, as the intention is to limit this to 1 country per person!

This post will be updated with an overview of which countries have already been posted:

Europe: Monaco, Wales, Switzerland, Liechtenstein, Scotland, Vatican City, Spain, England, Netherlands, France, Italy

North- & Central America: USA, Cherokee Reservation, Canada

South America:

Asia: Indonesia, Japan, South Korea, Vietnam, Taiwan

Africa:

Oceania: Australia

US-States → Wayfarer Around The World! - #17 by seaprincesshnb

Let’s begin with the Principality of Monaco and it’s national Automobil Club which hosts the world famous Monaco Grand Prix in Formula 1 and Formula E :monaco:

Wales: Stone Seat above Llyn Ffynnon-y-gwas looking towards Yr Wyddfa

Yr Wyddfa is the correct name for what the English call Snowdon. (This is the supporting photo, which I much prefer to the main photo.)

Indonesia. I will go with this one, welcome sign in various language. “Selamat Datang” = “Welcome” in Indonesia

@kawin240 could you use bold on the region names in the opening post, as this would make it scan easier?

Zurich, Switzerland :switzerland:

A small artificial island in Lake Zurich, built in 1958 for the second Swiss Exhibition for Women’s Work (SAFFA). Today, it’s a popular spot for swimming, sunbathing, and relaxing.

Hah I guess I will steal Liechtenstein then:

I really liked the background on this one

I’ll claim Jamaica

Colourful Bird and Fish sculpture near the Entrance to Riu Ocho Rios

(This one, because almost everyone at the resort will completely fail to see it, since they don’t venture beyond the buildings, so it was surprising to find an area decorated with this, since it wasn’t installed for Jamaicans but for tourists)

Edit: I only just read that each wayfarer can only claim one country :frowning:

I can offer Vatican City. The only post office in the country. Sadly, it says Roma as the location…

I’ll claim Japan from my trip there two years ago! You might have heard of cat cafes, you might have heard of dog cafes, but have you heard of a capybara cafe before?

Here’s another one for North America.

The Cherokee Reservation should qualify as its own nation. This isn’t my favorite submission from that day, but in terms of proving it’s a nation, this is the one.

I shall claim Canada with the Worlds Largest Hockey Stick!!

Fun story, I worked for the hardware store that made this, and even assisted in its construction. My signature is buried inside it.

Spain

A museum in Alcudia near the archeological site Pollentia were ancient roman sculptures were found. Submission did not pass through Lightship as being too close to an existing Wayspot. It got lost in the void.

The second picture is the actual Wayspot situation in Alcudia.

The google plus code if Niantic wants to take a second look: V42C+P4X Alcúdia, Spanien

I haven’t been anywhere particularly exotic, so I will take England.

Rowing is a very English passtime I think, especially university rowing.

Hey England will be exotic to some!

I’ll claim South Korea, hoping that the fact that all the wayspots I’ve submitted there before submissions in PoGo were available globally have only broken images may get fixed this way. This submission is the 1700m altitude marker on one of the trails to the top of Hallasan, the highest mountain in South Korea.
