Yes, the two games are not Wayfarer equal, and this challenge is shockingly Ingress weighted. But to Niantic, it’s about Machine Learning - it doesn’t matter where the edits come from.
Pogo Trainers: Maybe a good strategy is to get at least 10 edits before Nov 13 - and encourage others to do as much as possible, so both the community awards will be bigger.
And then enjoy (hopefully) better and faster AI resolutions of edits.
For the differences list: Trainers can see ALL waypoints when nominating; Agents can’t.
AR scans and Wayspot nominations/removal requests are not edits and do not count towards the challenge. It is just photo submissions, title/description/location edits that count.
yeah the inforgraphic I shared was not made specifically for this challenge, it just generally lists accesses to Wayfarer function or other adjacent functions, so it has unrelated contents to this challenge
The Wayfarer app is not to be used to submit edits or nominate new Wayspots. The Lightship map will still be accessible via a web browser for Android users. More info can be found here:
Thank you for this post. It’ll definitely be interesting to see how many edits are approved and if people are going to get banned or whatnot from trying to contribute to this challenge.

Maybe that is why they picked now so that they wouldn’t have to deal with folks complaining that they didn’t get rewards when they submitted through this app instead of through Ingress or Pokemon Go as stated in the challenge. We were asked long ago not to use this app to submit.
That would be great. Also for nominations, because it seems like each game has it own standard and requirements. A standardized system throughout all games. Think will clear out a lot what players which deem "unfair "
Heh. My comment was really a snarky response to the fact that a standalone Wayfarer App does/did exist, but was never out of beta and not supposed to be used by players (it was meant for developers who wanted to build their own similar games).
The rules for what becomes a wayspot is consistent across the games.
What gets selected out of that and accepted into a game varies by game.
