Funny that they only posted in News and didn’t post in a topic where we can discuss…
At the bottom I linked the subcategory for folks to discuss but I see what you mean, typically there’s a discussion specific topic. @MargariteDVille, is it ok if I edit your topic title to make this the official discussion topic?
Sure!
Where are the upgrades as reward?
Welcome to the forums @kubo0179!
My guess is that upgrades are earned by reviewing, and this challenge is not based on reviewing submissions, it’s based on submitting edits. So they probably aren’t keeping track of reviews completed during the challenge. But you should still get your usual upgrade for every 100 agreements you earn.
Hello and welcome,
Unfortunately, as this isn’t a review based challenge, there are no upgrade rewards. If we were doing reviews, upgrades would most likely be included, but we’re doing edit contributions instead.
@NianticTintino Are you able to clarify this?
Edited my response. Thanks for filling them in @mattiec741, you’re right on the dot!
The 40 edits max per edit type will be reset at the beginning of the challenge then the normal accrual will take place every day after. Therefore, if you submit all 120 on day 1, you will only have 4 new edit types to submit daily.
120?
Sorry this is the first time Ive had to really pay attention to how many edits are available at any one time and how fast they renew
Please can you really simply explain how it all works for me as a Pokémon Go player?
You could use this site to see what is within range for Ingress edit submissions: Map Radius Calculator
Google maps can be really bad some places, i hope these get approved…
It looks correct at first, but its not. Here is a more extreme example:
This volleyballcourt is almost placed correctly:
So we’ll get 70 text edits over the event. (Title and description count on the same 40 max.)
So we’ll need, say 40 photos and 40 location edits to make it to the top tier, 150.
That’s not reasonable. How about reset the text limit every day? Or add 20 per day instead of 2?
Thatvis not enough comjng back daily surely? For most people they will only just manage the 150 in time. Surely it would just be better to give back 20 text edits and 20 title edits a day for the duration of the event?
1 photo a day isn’t fair. I submitted 1 photo, ML approved it, and can’t submit more.
Really, how are people to reach the top tiers? Not everyone plays both PoGo and Ingress, so a disadvantage to those who only play 1, like myself.
I feels impossible for me, I had naively assumed Id be able to add some different images to multiple waypoints ie nicer angles, close ups, but if only 40 of my submissions can be images, then I just can’t…
I’m not touching location edits- it’ll likely make stuff disappear or Ill get banned for suggestions that “make it less accurate” because I’m fiddling for no reason
And I withdrew 1 of my location edits as it was basically in the same place the Wayspot is at now…
Great…
You can do 68 photos (or any one thing) - if you can submit at least 2 on Oct 30. It’s 40 to start, then 2 per day thru Nov 13 (14 days).
So we can do this combination:
68 text changes (name+description)
68 photos
14 location edits
150 edits, for max prize and OPR Live badge bump
Thing is, I’ve already submitted the 2 valid location edits I know about. So from now until Nov 11, I’ll be looking for ANY 12 I can move an inch or so. Even tho locations in my area are already pinned pretty accurately.
Please do not move things simply for the sake of a challenge.
