The map that is being used is not updated I just tried to nominate a spot where huge pump station was built. On the map it shows it as a canal filled with water.

The map you see during nominating comes from Google Maps, so Wayfarer has no control over when it’s updated. You will just want to place the location pin as best you can if a place is not yet on Google Maps.
Also, I don’t know how a pump station would be a great place to be social/exercise/explore, which all nominations must meet at least one of. A pump station sounds like a utility for the community, to bring water to homes or remove it during wet times, so more infrastructure and indistinct.
