Recap: You can view the new map and look for “underdeveloped” ̶c̶̶e̶̶l̶̶l̶̶s̶ areas where you can “Claim” the Area for a certain amount of time (6 weeks?). You get more things to nominate (maybe ALOT more than 40) and your contributions will be fast-tracked.
Would be ideal for contributors that are looking for an adventure on their holiday. When i go away for the weekend i am stuck with what i can submit, and thats not much.
The underdeveloped areas will be highlighted in the new map so that everyone sees “this is a barren pogo wasteland”.
Didn’t see anything in the post about challenges. Wondering if that will still happen? I know it’s tough now with the split, but would still like some information on them, so we know what to expect.
I can’t wait to see what the map has to offer. The other stuff, I will wait and see before I can get really excited….
This seems like a pretty great roadmap. I’m looking forward to seeing how it all pans out, and it might get me back into reviewing a bit more (I’ve been a little lax as of late haha).
And I’m so glad to see that the map is on its way!
If it doesn’t happen, we should metaphoricly throw a temper tantrum….. 
Is there a link to the map. Submitted a stop and believe it was moved into another cell with one but there is no way to have it moved to another cell but i have to see it first but it doesn’t show in ingress either

Thanks for asking! And yessssssssss, challenges will still be happening 
However, since the last challenge we still need some time to rethink the design of the challenges.
I loved arriving at a new town or village I’m passing through and doing drive by nominations. Giving players in that area say, their first gym or even their first Pokestop.
I do hope the leaderboards back date also
