Wayfarer Suspension Appeal – Missing Email Notification

I am reaching out regarding a suspension recently applied to my account, related to a Wayfarer submission.

Back in January, I had already received a warning for an erroneous submission. I accidentally uploaded a picture of a food dish from my photo gallery as a new image for a PokéStop, instead of the correct one. I tried to cancel the action immediately, but it was not possible to go back. I contacted your support to explain the mistake, but I never received a response.

Today, I see that my account has been suspended from Wayfarer for 30 years and that I am also banned from accessing Pokémon GO for 30 days. When I try to log in, a message says that further details were sent to an email from no_reply@nianticlabs.com or noreply@nianticlabs.com, but I haven’t received any such message despite checking thoroughly, including in my spam folder. Could you clarify ?

Regarding the suspension itself, I am a very active member of the Pokémon GO community. I regularly submit PokéStop nominations (around ten each month), and the vast majority are accepted (14 stops accepted just in the past 24h). I fully acknowledge that some mistakes may have slipped through in my submissions, and I take responsibility for them. I commit to being much more careful and thorough in the future.

However, I find the sanction particularly severe, especially since it also affects my access to the game itself. Pokémon GO is a game I’ve played daily for several years. I’ve invested a lot of time and money in it — I recently attended the Safari Zone in Milan and have already purchased my ticket for GO Fest in Paris.

This game is also a major part of my social life. I had planned to join a group outing this Saturday in Brussels for the Giga Snorlax Raids with eight other players from my town. This 30-day ban completely cuts me off from the community I play with daily. I had also purchased an event ticket and PokéCoins in preparation for this Saturday.

I kindly ask you to reconsider my case, and if possible, to lift the game access suspension, while keeping, if necessary, a temporary restriction on my Wayfarer activities.

Bans aren’t considered bugs or tech issues, so a mod might move this to another topic.

Please keep in mind that this may not be a Wayfarer related ban. It could come from a game, and if that’s the case, Wayfarer staff will be unable to assist.

You may also want to check your junk mail folder to see if the email ended up in there. If you’ve ever used a different email address in the past, you might want to check to see if the email was sent there.

Being that staff doesn’t publicly discuss bans, and the firums are public, staff may DM you with additional info. Staff also monitor the forums, so there’s usually no need to tag them, especially when it comes to a ban.
