Wayfarer login issues

I tried to login to wayfarer today and it’s showing a ban notice. I don’t see anything about that in my email. I submitted a portal in ingress in April and it was approved. I have no idea why I’m seeing the notice. I have quite a few additional portals I’ve scanned and would like to submit.
I’ve checked my email inbox, trash, spam, etc. Nothing.

Try checking all email under you that might got related in the past.

Hello and welcome @TimRiker
Do you have a screenshot of the notice?

And what happens when you turn on games?

Please be patient but often someone from the wayfarer team will contact you.

Hey there,

Your suspension did not originate from Wayfarer. Please reach out to Pokémon GO support for more information.

Best,

I don’t play pgo anymore. I don’t have the app installed.

I’ve check old emails from Niantic, pgo, ingress, in spam, trash, inbox, etc. And I don’t see any notice about my wayfarer account other than the expected portal approvals.

If its not pogo, then ingress??

During Covid I played PGO with a modified client. It was therapeutic to be able to virtually travel when actual travel to these places was banned. Unlike Ingress where gps spoofing would drastically impact gameplay, pgo spoofing does not have much if any impact.

Now that travel of available, I stopped playing pgo.

Is it normal that a pgo ban will cause a wayfarer ban without any email notification?

Since the ban originates in PGO I dont think you get a notification from the other games other than the notice when you sign in, but could be wrong. A ban in one part of Niantic triggers a ban throughout Niantic products. We have seen instances of really old email accounts being sent a sanction message and some specific issues with apple.
But yes it sounds as though what you have described is the reason and that is not something wayfarer can help with.

Pogo spoofing does have an impact on other players, primarily when people spoof their GPS and kick people out of gyms.

Agreed. I avoided gyms. What I was after was exploring and having a reasonable chance in advanced raids.. I hear the raid portion is much better now?. Back then, living far from cities made raids nearly impossible. In a major city they are easy. The rural players were at a severe disadvantage. I wonder how much better that is now?

Is it a lack of other players or objects to play with?
Discussions about how to improve rural areas are pretty common here on the forums. But it often ends with no better ideas.
What do you do as a rural in your freetime? Where do you go? Where do you hang out with friends?

It’s both. Joining a raid in NYC almost always is full with 20 trainers. Even if you don’t fight, you still win. It’s harder to get the hardest hitter and others, but there are so many many gyms around that it’s easy to try again. There are many more Pokemon around, more stops to spin etc.

I’ve never ever run out of pokeballs in an urban setting. That is a continuous issue in rural areas.

It’s really ridiculous. Gameplay that literally takes weeks to execute in rural areas accidentally happens in urban areas while walking to get lunch.

But what’s the idea to change it? Where could these gyms be added?

I’d love to submit more, but my wayfarer account is blocked.

More points would help, but for PGO that’s still nowhere near leveling the playing field. Raids allow 20 trainers and finding 20 trainers is nearly impossible in rural areas. This is the norm in areas like NYC raids.

The whole game would have to change. If raids were individual, not groups, then that would make a difference, but would take away the “team up” aspect. If raids scaled difficulty up with more trainers, that would mostly remove the point of teaming up.

To allow rural players the same opportunity, there would have to be much more pokemon in remote areas.

If there were more pokemon in urban areas, but only the first trainer to capture a pokemon got it, that would level that aspect of the game, however imagine the frustration for an urban player having to pick 50+ pokemon before finally beating out other players to get a chance to capture one. It would level the playing field, but I think it would make urban play worse, like rural play is now.

@NianticAaron How do I contact PGO support?

Side note: since I’ve submitted quite a few locations and corrections and almost all of them have been approved, does it make sense to block my account in wayfarer? From what you say, I have violated absolutely no wayfarer terms, and clearly have been of value as a long time wayfarer contributor.

I think I found the web way of submitting and sent in a request. Thanks!

Suspension in any of our products disqualifies you from getting access to Wayfarer.

It’s that stated in any terms of service? I could not find anything that states this.

Please refer to “Account Suspension or Termination” in the terms of service.
