Wayfarer Web Submission is HERE!

Hello Wayfinders,

We are very excited to share that Wayfarer Web Submission v1 is here! Wayfinders can now login to their Wayfarer accounts and submit nominations both on desktop and mobile.

Once logged in, Wayfinders will be able to click on the Submit tab and submit your favorite eligible locations with some additional features compared to submitting within Pokémon GO. When submitting through the Wayfarer website, you’ll be prompted to enable Location Settings and newly be able to:

• See how many nominations you have available and how many you’ll accrue the following day

• Upload 1 main photo and up to 5 supporting photos

• Supporting photos in review will act as a gallery. If there are more than 1 supporting images, you will see an arrow to view the others and they will cycle through.

• View Wayspot main photo on the Duplicate map instead of a generic Wayspot logo

• While Categories will become optional, they will not be asked for in this version

• Radius Warnings - you will now see 2 radius warnings appear under the Duplicates Map. These will appear when:

  • Your current location is more than 10km from where you placed the pin

  • Your uploaded main photo location data is more than 10km from where you placed the pin.

• Additional Information is now optional. While reviewing, the lack of supporting information was intentional by the submitter

All other parts of nominating such as Title, Description, Supporting text, etc will remain the same.

Lastly, keep in mind this is the first version of Web Submission and we’ll be collecting YOUR feedback during the next couple of weeks as we work to make v2 available before the end of the year. Huge thanks to our Ambassadors who have reviewed and identified some improvements that we hope to have ready in v2.

Hello Wayfinders,

Thank you all for your amazing feedback on Wayfarer Web Submission v1! In the last couple of days we’ve seen thousands of new submissions coming through the Wayfarer website and we’re glad that it’s been such a hit!

Here’s a quick list of what improvements you can expect within the next 24 hours:

• Adding characters like ', ", or € will no longer produce submission errors

• The duplicates map will no longer move when engaging with it on mobile

• Dark mode will persist after clicking between Map/Satellite views

• Image previews prior to submitting will no longer be cropped, they will display original formats

• Confirmation page on Firefox will show confetti

• Pin placement will now display the correct lat/lon coordinated on mobile

• Pin location won’t change when rotating your phone

• Info window for nearby dupes will support dark mode

• Character limit for supporting information increased to 3000

We hope that these changes will improve your experience with Web Submission v1. Other issues or recommendations raised by the community are still pending and will ship at a later date.

If you see anything else that hasn’t been suggested or discovered, feel free to let us know and we’ll add it to our list of improvements.
