Why is this so inconsistent?
POI submission
- Via app: only one additional image, but tags
- Via browser: serveral images, but no tags
Why is this so inconsistent?
POI submission
The tags are of no value to any wayfarer or any player in Pokemon Go.
The in-app submission came first. The browser submission came more recently and had two improvements - no tags and multiple supporting images.
These improvements have not yet been made to the in-app submission. Think of it as Version 1 (in-app) and Version 2 (browser).
Here is one for version 3:
By company policies the location is blocked in windows. on wayfinder website I cant add or modify my suggestions, because the positioning is needed.
I dont need to be taken such by the hand, just to have my location set to near. Since I have to be able to modify my positioning, they assume i have that skill. And I do. So get rid of the location-block, like any other map app.
Can you elaborate? Afaik you can repin the coordinate when you submit.
If you want to add a new POI, it says âDer Standort konnte nicht abgerufen werden. Aktiviere Ortungsdienste in deinem Browser oder in deinen GerĂ€teeinstellungen und versuche es erneut.â translated to âYour location could not be retrieved. Please enable location services in your browser or device settings and try again.â.
So I cant use my PC to edit.
It sounds like you need to allow the wayfarer website to access your location and that any location block is at your end.
There is a discussion about the web submission here: Web Submission v1 - Discussion
I know that the block is on my side, but our company wont allow location.
Does I really need Niantic to help me find my POI by setting the map to my current position? Maybe the POI I want to add isnt even here.
Get rid of the browser-lock, or make it like any other map - start me somewhere.
Mod Edit: Removed the unwanted address
No.
You cannot submit wayspots that are a long way away from you. The web submission has to know your location. If your company doesnât allow that, then you cannot use the web submission form while using your companyâs computers.
My company also wonât let me add my location in my browser on my work computer. You know how i get around that? I go back to doing my job and do Wayfarer submissions at home (or on my own equipment).
You people⊠maybe Im allowed to use the company-laptop at home? Or dont I have a lunch break?
My point is: the map doenst need my location to start somewhere default.
Good day!
It seems that the submission stage still requires the submitter to be within a certain range from the actual POI location. This is true for both methods.
Sadly, it seems to be an intentional requirement for Wayfarer submissions.
There are 10km range distance to submit wayspot so wayfarer need your location. If your office computer block it, i think u need to use personal phone.
By âadd or modify my suggestionsâ, OP is possibly talking about the drafts system.
You cannot create or edit drafts without GPS. This is even though there is no distance limit on where drafts can be created or modified. The only limit is on when drafts can be submitted.
Given that drafts are now a built in feature through the Submit map, I think it would be good if the submit map could load even without location. Simply disable to âSubmitâ button at the bottom of the page and instead only allow the user to save draft. They can then submit when they are on a device with location permissions.
Tntnnbltn, first user who really gets my point. Sorry on my side, for not making that clear (not a native speaker).
Feel free to post in your native language so that you can explain your situation clearly. The forum has a built-in translate function that the rest of us can use to read what youâve written in our own language. You donât need to struggle in a foreign language.
